#AceWorldNews says that Russia’s Khanty-Mansi autonomous area in Western Siberia has simplified re-settlement procedures for ethnic Russians living abroad, the measure targeting first of all Ukrainian Russians, the press service of the regional governor reports on Friday.
“This decision was prompted by dramatic events in Ukraine. We must create all conditions to accept fellow Russians from Ukraine in case of necessity,” governor’s first deputy Gennady Bukhtin said on Friday, adding that he implied job placement and shorter time-frame for processing applications to move to the autonomous region.
He said not only higher professional education would be taken into consideration, but also programs of additional professional training were planned, first of all regarding blue-collar occupations in demand for the region’s economy. “In a set, these measures are to help solve two tasks – help the fraternal people and strengthen the economic potential” of the region, he noted.
As of Friday, the regional department for labour and employment had received 13 applications from ethnic Russians living in Ukraine.
