#AceNewsServices – MOSCOW – April 12 – (ITT) – Amidst the anti-Russian campaign in the United States after the latest events in Ukraine “someone is trying to embellish the American security services” and blaming Russia for lack of cooperation in investigating their activities before and during the Boston Marathon bombings, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said in a statement on Saturday, April 12, following U.S. media reports about a leaked “internal report” prepared by the American intelligence community.
“Citing unnamed sources, this document, the open part of which is to be published on April 15, says that Russia has been blamed for being ‘uncooperative’,” he said.
“It’s hard for us to understand why such concoctions are being spread if we had a detailed discussion with the American side on all the circumstances of this case, including via information exchanges between the relevant services.
Russian competent bodies had provided their U.S. colleagues with information on Tamerlan Tsarnayev [the main suspect in the case] long before the terrorist act, but it was not properly considered for a number of reasons.
We organised a special briefing for members of the U.S. Congress who visited Moscow in June of last year to give answers to their questions,” the spokesperson said.
