#AceWorldNews – UKRAINE – CRIMEA – May 02 – Ukrainian MP and former leader of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev was denied entry to Russia on May 2, the parliamentarian has told Interfax-Ukraine.
“I was told at the border at Sheremetyevo Airport that I was denied entry to Russia until the end of the year,” Jemilev said.
He said that he had already returned to Kyiv.
Earlier, the Mejlis’s press service reported that Jemilev had been banned from entering Russia and Crimea for five years. However, Jemilev was not included in the expanded list of the self-proclaimed State Council of the Republic of Crimea banning entry to the Crimean peninsula.
Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said it was outraged by this decision and described it as “revenge on Jemilev for his clear position on the non-recognition of Crimea’s occupation.”
