ALGERIA: ‘ Earthquake Magnitude 5.5 Hits Algerian Capital ‘

#AceWorldNews – ALGERIA – August 01 – An earthquake magnitude 5.1 earthquake hit south-east of the Algerian capital Friday. It shook buildings and sent panicked people rushing in the streets in Algiers and nearby towns, Reuters reported citing witnesses.

​The quake struck 14km south-east of Algiers, and an epicentre was recorded at a relatively shallow depth of 6.2 miles (10km), the US Geological Survey said.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
