#AceBreakingNews – NIGERIA – Nov.10 – Several dozen students were killed Monday when a suicide bomber detonated an explosion at a school in north-east Nigeria, according to media reports.
The Associated Press reported the bomber was disguised in a school uniform.
The suicide bomb attack killed 47 students and injured 79 others on Monday in north-east Nigeria, AFP said.“There was an explosion detonated by a suicide bomber” when students gathered for morning assembly at their school in Potiskum, Yobe state, according to national police spokesman Emmanuel Ojukwu.
However, the Associated Press said soldiers who rushed to the scene were chased away by a crowd throwing stones and shouting that they are angry at the military’s inability to halt a 5-year-old insurgency by the Islamist extremist group Boko Haram.
The attack so far has nobody claiming responsibility but was likely carried out by Islamist extremists from the Boko Haram group, he added, who have been more active lately.
