#AceWorldNews – PAKISTAN:Dec.17 – Pakistan’s months long political confrontation has been temporarily put on hold by the Peshawar school massacre, with government and opposition parties meeting Wednesday in the north-western city.

The gathering of the country’s political leaders was specially convened by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as Pakistan began three days of mourning, and as the nation struggles to come to terms with the shocking death toll from the attack.

At least 148 people, including 132 children, died in Tuesday’s Taliban assault on a Peshawar school, according to the military.

Candlelight vigils were being held in cities across the country, the national flag lowered to half mast, as funerals took place.
