SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO)reported

The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two inmates who they say escaped from the main jail Wednesday night.

Officials say four inmates escaped from a second floor window in the oldest section of the Main Jail. They reportedly cut through the window’s bars to make the escape.

Two were immediately apprehended by deputies just outside the jail, but two inmates are still on the loose.

The escaped inmates have been identified as Rogelio Chavez and Lanon Campbell.

Chavez was booked into the jail on August 17, 2016 on various charges including burglary, extortion, false imprisonment, resisting arrest and firearms violations. He’s described as a Hispanic male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 190 pounds, with a distinctive facial tattoo above and below his elft eye.

Campbell was booked into the jail on February 12, 2015 on various charges including robbery, false imprisonment, criminal threats and firearms violations. He’s described as an African American male, 6 feet 4 inches tall, and 220 pounds.

Officials have set up a perimeter in an attempt to locate the inmates. The Sheriff’s Office, San Jose police and Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety are actively searching for the two men.
