(NABLUS, Palestine.) JUST IN: Palestinian Red Crescent Society – during pre-dawn clashes in Nablus, Israeli occupation forces opened fire at our ambulance & broke its windshield, injuring the two paramedics with broken glass #AceNewsDesk reports

#AceNewsReport – Sept.17: Eight Palestinians were injured, including medics, during violent clashes that erupted in the northern occupied West Bank city of Nablus on predawn Monday while Israeli forces escorted a group of Jewish settlers as they visited Joseph’s Tomb to perform religious rituals: The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) told Ma’an that two of their paramedics sustained were among the eight injured Palestinians #AceNewsDesk reports

PRCS confirmed that Israeli forces opened fire at the ambulance and broke its windshield, injuring the two paramedics with broken glass: The paramedics were identified as Jarir Qanadil and Amir al-Bizra; their injuries were reported to be minor: PRCS added that six Palestinians were injured during clashes as Israeli forces fired rubber-coated steel bullets and tear-gas bombsز

Several others suffered from tear-gas inhalation and were treated at the scene

The six injured Palestinians were immediately transferred to the Rafidya Hospital in Nablus to receive the necessary medical treatment: Hundreds of Israeli settlers stormed Joseph’s Tomb and performed religious Jewish rituals, as well as “Talmudic” prayers under the heavy protection of Israeli soldiers, which led to clashes among Israeli forces and Palestinians.
Joseph’s Tomb is revered by Jews, Muslims, Christians, and Samaritans alike. The Israeli military allows Jews to visit as part of organized pilgrimages, despite the site being located in Area A where the PA has full control, and prohibits Muslims from worshiping at the site.
Ultra-orthodox and nationalist Jews regularly try to visit the shrine without approval, as many Jews believe the tomb to be the final resting place of the biblical figure in the Old Testament………………………Palestinians believe that Joseph’s Tomb is the funerary monument to Sheikh Youssef Dweikat, a local religious figure.
