#AceNewsReport – July.30: A man arrested in Manchester by officers from Counter Terrorism Policing North West and another man arrested by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command in London have appeared in court charged with terrorism offences: Both were remanded in custody to appear at Oxford Crown Court on Friday, 16 August: Their arrests are part of a joint investigation by officers from Counter Terrorism Policing North West and the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.

[A] Ayub Nurhussein, 28 (07.09.90) of south west London, who was charged on Friday, 26 July with funding terrorism, contrary to section 17 of the Terrorism Act (TACT) 2000 and possession of a document or record containing information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to section 58 TACT, 2000, appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 26 July: He appeared alongside [C] Said Mohammed, 30 (18.05.89) from Longsight, Manchester who was charged on Friday, 26 July with one count of arranging funds or property for the purposes of terrorism contrary to Section 17 TACT 2000 and one count contrary to Section 58 (1)(a), TACT 2000 which relates to the possession of a document or record likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism: Another man [B] Farah Ahmed, 42 (17.10.76) of south west London was charged on Thursday, 25 July with possession of a document or record containing information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to section 58 TACT, 2000: He was also charged with dissemination of terrorist material contrary to section 2 TACT, 2006.

He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on the same date as his charge where he was remanded in custody to appear at Oxford Crown Court on Friday, 16 August: Nurhussein and Ahmed were arrested at a residential address in south west London on Tuesday, 16 July and were detained under section 41, TACT and taken to a south London police station: Warrants of further detention were granted at Westminster Magistrates’ Court up until Monday, 30 July but both men were subsequently charged as above.

Searches at a residential address in south west London and a commercial premises in south east London are now complete.
