#AceNewsReport – Oct.17: A suspect was critically injured in a shootout with police in Brooklyn Tuesday night, according to cops: The shooting occurred around 8 p.m., police said, near the Gowanus Houses at the corner of Baltic Street and Hoyt Street.
Police said that two plainclothes officers came across a man firing a gun at another person, ordered him to drop his weapon: He refused, and police then opened fire……………………The anti-crime unit fired about 30 times at the gunman, according to a senior law enforcement official. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, police said…………………..The suspect’s weapon was recovered at the scene, the senior law enforcement official said. Police say the unidentified suspect has an extensive criminal history and is currently out on parole after being released from jail less than a week ago.
No officers were injured in the incident: Two officers were taken to the hospital for trauma evaluation…………………..An investigation is ongoing.
