#AceNewsReport – Jan.24: An Afghan-born U.S. citizen already serving life in prison for a bombing in New York City has been sentenced to an additional life term for a shootout with police in New Jersey as he attempted to avoid arrest: A judge sentenced Ahmad Khan Rahimi on Friday.

Rahimi was convicted in October on multiple counts of attempted murder and assault: The shooting occurred in Linden, New Jersey, two days after a bomb had exploded in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighbourhood in September 2016.

Thirty people suffered injuries in the bombing, including cuts caused by flying metal and glass: A second bomb planted on the street failed to explode. Rahimi didn’t address the court during Friday’s proceeding.
