Scotland’s papers: Election polls and veterans ‘witch hunt’

The SNP is facing its worst result since 2007 according to polling in The Scotsman. It writes that the party is set for a “shock result” that will leave it short of a majority, in the poll conducted by Savanta ComRes for the newspaper.
The Scottish Daily Mail says there are “just 24 hours left to block the SNP” as it looks at polling data ahead of election day. It says the prospect of a Holyrood majority for Nicola Sturgeon’s party is “on a knife edge” as leaders faced each other in the final TV debate on the BBC last night.Calls for the “witch hunt” of soldiers who served in Northern Ireland to stop is the front page of The Scottish Daily Express.
