Scotland’s papers: Election polls and veterans ‘witch hunt’

The Metro reports on two polls that are indicating a majority for the SNP, but with only 43% of voters saying they want an independence referendum in the next five years: The Metro is looking at data from YouGov for The Times and Opinium for Sky News:

The SNP is facing its worst result since 2007 according to polling in The Scotsman. It writes that the party is set for a “shock result” that will leave it short of a majority, in the poll conducted by Savanta ComRes for the newspaper.

The majority of Scots who support holding another independence referendum want it to be held after the pandemic is over, according to The Herald. It is among many of Scotland’s papers discussing election polls, the day before the Holyrood vote.
