#AceNewsReport – May.27: 911 dispatch received a call for a shooting around 6:30 a.m. local time — the address for the crime scene is near 100 W. Younger Ave. in downtown San Jose:

CALIFORNIA: The suspected gunman has been identified as 57-year-old Samuel Cassidy, who was an employee at the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). Cassidy set fire to his own home before the shooting, no one was inside the house.

“This is a horrific day for our city and it is a tragic day for the VTA family and our heart pains for the families and the co-workers because we know so many are feeling deeply this loss of their loved ones and their fiends,” San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo said.

Several agencies are assisting in the investigation, including the FBI.
