#AceNewsReport – Sept.01: Due to suspicions around two further addresses on the same street, officers forced entry to those two premises recovering 67 plants mature cannabis plants and 96 immature cannabis plants….
#AceDailyNews reports that three cannabis farms have been dismantled in Norris Green after officers raided them at around 11.50am on Thursday (26 August), a warrant was executed on Scargreen Avenue and 61 cannabis plants and equipment found. The electricity had also been abstracted, and the house has now been made safe.
Officers also seized a white Transit van which they believed is involved in cannabis cultivation.
Enquiries are ongoing to locate the occupants.
Sergeant Andy Hall said: “These warrants are a great example of our officers identifying the visible signs of a possible cannabis farm and taking decisive action to take drugs out of circulation, and remove the ability of criminals to profit from them: The electricity in both addresses has also been made safe, and the risk to neighbouring properties from the electricity being tampered with has been removed. This could have created a very real flood and fire risk for anyone unlucky enough to live nearby: It is vital that we find cannabis farms as quickly as possible, because nobody wants to live close to a potential death-trap and it’s thanks to people living in the areas affected, and the proactivity of our officers, that we are able to take action: We’re also keen to speak with anyone who might have seen people coming or going from the addresses on Scargreen Avenue in recent days and weeks. Any details of suspicious people or vehicles could prove vital in helping identify those responsible and we will act on all information received.”

Some of the signs that cannabis is being grown are:
• Strange smells and sounds
• Frequent and varied visitors to a property, often at unusual times
• Gardening equipment being taken into a property, such as plant pots, fertiliser, fans and industrial lighting
• Windows are sealed and covered or the curtains are permanently closed
• Heat from an adjoining property
• Birds gathering on a roof in cold weather
• Individually these activities may seem commonplace, however, together may indicate something more suspicious
