Edward Davey, Secretary of State for Energy, responds to Npower‘s announcement about the rise of their energy tariffs

Energy and Climate Change Secretary Edward Davey said:

“This is another disappointing announcement from a big energy company. Some of the Big 6 seem not to have noticed that they are no longer alone in the market – there are now fifteen small suppliers, and some really competitive fixed deals out there.

“Today I’m publishing hard figures on the costs energy companies really face in delivering the Energy Company Obligation (ECO), so consumers can see what this scheme is really costing energy companies.

“These figures – supplied by the energy companies themselves – show that the costs are in line with previous schemes so there should be no need for any increase to consumer bills due to ECO.”

 EDITORS Comment:

The pussy footing of the Energy Minister is evident in this statement as comments, such as this leads us evermore into a state of the consumer pays higher and higher energy prices, just to stay warm! The fact that these companies bosses award themselves larger and larger pay rises, the energy shares rise ever higher, and our Energy ministers best advice is shop around, provides us with no confidence at all that this government will curtail these 6 giants!

He states that he is going to tell us how hard done by the energy companies are with a new report ,but look at their profits year on year and bonus payments for delivering what, higher bills, lack of investment into new infrastructure, and above all no sign that this Energy minister has any intention of taking our grievances any further.

So what next well we already know that Osborne is climbing into bed with the French company EDF, but with the added bonus {for them}, not us, that the Chinese will be taking a 20% stake. Of course we are told that the company EDF will not take any tax payers money – that is at the front end of course, not the same situation at the end of building the nuclear power plant. Then they will get a price of £92.50 per therm of electricity provided, but as ED Davey said on BBC Radio Four today ,it will drop to £89.50 ,providing they sign-up for another deal on another plant.

Well as Ed Davey was asked by Stephanie Flanders Financial Correspondent on BBC Radio Four, does this mean the UK get to invest in the Chinese Energy Markets? – he declined to answer, changed the subject and was cut-off! He returned later with the same rhetoric as we have heard so often before, and it goes something like this ” Without this type of Investment into our Energy Industry we cannot sustain prices as we do now” what are we sustaining!

Is that not how this speech started, in the first place, all about the rise of energy tariffs, let me check! Yes l was right the speech was headed:Edward DaveySecretary of State for Energy, responds to Npower‘s announcement about the rise of their energy tariffs.

Has he forgot so quickly what he said on the 21st October 2013 – hang on a minute that is today.

The first videos of NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden have surfaced since he received asylum in Russia. The footage, provided by WikiLeaks, was taken during the Sam Adams Associates for Integrity in Intelligence awards ceremony.

The video fragments of a meeting, attended by the former CIA analyst Ray McGovern, former NSA executive Thomas Andrews Drake and former FBI agent Coleen Rowley, Jesselyn Radack of the Government Accountability Project, and Sarah Harrison of WikiLeaks – all whistleblowers in their own respects – were released by WikiLeaks on Friday.

In the first video appearance since he was granted asylum in Russia, Snowden spoke about US government transparency and dangers to democracy caused by the NSA mass spying programs.

“This is not about any sort of particular program, this is about a trend in the relationship between the governing and the governed in America,” Snowden said speaking about the government transparency situation in the US. “That is increasingly coming into conflict with what we expect as a free and democratic people. If we can’t understand the policies and the programs of our government, we cannot grant our consent in regulating them.”

“As someone very clever said recently, we don’t have an oversight problem in the US we have an undersight problem.”

The problem has grown up to a point where Americans have “an executive, the Department of Justice, that’s unwilling to prosecute high officials who lied to Congress and the country on camera but they’ll stop at nothing to prosecute someone who told them the truth,” Snowden added.

Holy Festival of Eid al-Adha – Celebrated

The Prime Minister sends his best wishes to the Muslim community for a joyous and peaceful Eid al-Adha.

Speaking ahead of Eid al-Adha, David Cameron said:

I send my best wishes to Muslims in Britain and around the world celebrating the holy festival of Eid al-Adha.

At this time of year, as is so often the case, we will see Muslims of all ages and backgrounds putting others before themselves, giving to worthy causes and praying for those in need.

I commend Britain’s near 3 million Muslims for their charity, their self-sacrifice and their devotion to God. I believe that our country is a much stronger one because we have people of faith and belief. Britain’s Muslims, Christians, Jews, Sikhs and Hindus; their institutions and their values help give us that strength.

I hope you have a joyous and peaceful festival. Eid Mubarak!

Chaos and Corruption in Obama’s Washington

Chaos and Corruption in Obama‘s Washington

How many actually signed up, sir?” Wallace asked Lew.”You know, they have six months to sign up. This is a big decision. We never-”

“How many signed up?” Wallace asked again.

“I don’t have the exact number, but the question isn’t how many — the question –

“Do you have any number?” Wallace asked. “Because the government has refused to tell us how many.”

“It’s the wrong question. It’s the wrong question,” Lew said.

“No it isn’t,” Wallace replied.

“The right question–” Lew said, but again, Wallace cut him off.

“The question is, how many people have actually signed up?” Wallace asked.

“Chris, we know that people take time to make important decisions like this. They go on(line), they compare their options. The fact that so many millions of people rushed to get information is a very good sign.”

“The answer is they couldn’t,” Wallace said.

I’ll spare you the rest as it went on like this for some time. It took a newspaper based in another country to get the answer about how many signed up. London’s Daily Mail broke the news that only 51,000 were able to “apply” for insurance on the failing Obamacare government web sites.

Some in the liberal press did their best to provide cover. The Washington Post called the effort to track the data “tricky business.” While Mother Jones said it doesn’t even matter how many people signed up, but then parroted the Post’s excuse: “…getting lots of uninsured people into private health plans…is maddeningly difficult and time-consuming,” writer Stephanie Mencimer complained.

The only reason the number “doesn’t matter” to the Left is because the number is embarrassingly low. You can bet if the number represented good news for the president, it would have been on the tip of the tongue of every Obama administration spokesperson throughout the federal leviathan – and page-one material for the liberal press.

But that wasn’t the big news during the Obamacare launch. No, the headline was the fact that people couldn’t sign up even if they wanted to due to a massive breakdown in the system: a problem that has yet to be fixed! “The second week of Obamacare enrollment started a lot like the first: with error messages,” reported Politico.

Glitches continued crippling online enrollment in new Obamacare exchanges on Monday, despite assurances by the White House that the consumer experience would markedly improve this week.

The Obama administration deployed senior officials over the weekend to emphasize that problems on the enrollment site,, were primarily the result of intense interest from prospective enrollees. But their claims were undercut by a Sunday evening Wall Street Journal report claiming serious design flaws in the system’s infrastructure.

According to The Associated Press, the system was “drawing lots of rotten tomatoes” with only 1 in 10 reported successes on the system. CBS This Morning reported that media outlets are having a difficult time finding anyone who has actually been successful (and I’m sure it’s not for lack of trying). One computer programmer summed it up: “It wasn’t designed well, it wasn’t implemented well, and it looks like nobody tested it.” (Digital Trends called the system a “befuddled beast” noting that the website alone cost $634 million. By way of comparison it took Facebook six years to receive $600 million in operating funds.)

Even liberal political activist John Stewart, typically an apologist for all things Obama, made a mockery of the Obamacare launch during a “cringeworthy” interview with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius this week: “I’m gonna try and download every movie ever made,” The Daily Show host quipped, “and you’re gonna try and sign up for Obamacare-and we’ll see which happens first.”

We already know that Obamacare makes a mockery of the rule of law. See, for instance, our lawsuit for Dr. Larry Kawa’s Kawa Orthodontics, LLP trying to get Obama to follow his own darn healthcare law.

Now it is clear Obama isn’t following his own law because he can’t make it work. This is no surprise to constitutional conservatives who understand that the markets for health care are exceedingly complex and can’t be managed by socialists in Washington.

While Obamacare was busy tanking, the National Park Service (NPS) continued its oppressive blockades – even shutting down enterprises not run by the government. It all started last week when World War II heroes were denied access – from seeing their own memorial – by National Park Service personnel because, they were told, of the government shut down.

But here’s the thing. There is no basis for the memorial to be shut down. And it cost the Obama administration more money to keep the memorials closed than to keep them open, as required, 24 hours a day!

One might think that the National Park Service would shrink in embarrassment, especially after the veterans moved past the blockades to complete their mission, leading to major national news coverage. But what did the NPS do? They doubled down!

There’s the Claude Moore Colonial Home in McLean, Virginia, closed by the NPS even though the service hasn’t operated that site since 1980. When the farm resisted, noting that it was operated with private donations and volunteers, the NPS caved and allowed it to reopen.

The Park Service doesn’t own Mount Vernon either, but that didn’t stop the NPS from closing that facility. And Mt. Rushmore? The NPS “went the extra mile and put out orange cones to block the little scenic overlook areas on the roads near Mount Rushmore. You know, just to make sure no taxpayers could catch a glimpse of it,” writes The Weekly Standard in an editorial.

“Think about that for a minute,” the editorial continues. “The Park Service, which is supposed to serve the public by administering parks, is now in the business of forcing parks they don’t administer to close.”

Unless, of course, a group of leftists would like to use the “closed” federal parks to conduct a protest. Which is exactly what happened this week.

Just days after World War II veterans were denied access to their memorial, a large group of illegal alien amnesty activists began setting up for a national demonstration (Camino Americano) on the “closed” mall area adjacent to Capitol Hill.

“Rally organizers said that they would be allowed by the NPS to carry out their protest under their First Amendment rights,” The Washington Examiner reported.

Only a corrupted presidential administration, completely out of touch with the Constitution and all reason, could justify denying military veterans an opportunity to visit a memorial built in their honor while defending the rights of the illegal immigration lobby to have its say.

Unlike most Washington politicians, we won’t let these scandals lie. We have filed multiple Freedom of Information Act requests to try to expose the truth about the Obamacare debacle. And we have a filed a half-dozen document requests to expose the full facts about the National Park Service desecration of our nation’s war memorials and parks. We’ll keep watch for you and the other patriotic Americans who are horrified at the chaos and corruption here in DC. With vigilance and diligence, we can begin to get this town back under control.

International Procedures for UK – Personnel Security Clearances

Security Clearance Requests UK personnel security clearance (PSC) levels.

The UK only has two types of PSC which are valid for accessing international classified

These are: Security Check (SC) – Permits access to international classified information up to and including the level of SECRET.

Developed Vetting (DV) – Permits access to international classified information at TOP SECRET level and below.

Occasionally international partners may see references of a UK process known as the, Baseline Protective Security Standard‟ (BPSS). This is a pre-employment recruitment, check (not a PSC) that is undertaken by UK departments, agencies and Government sponsored contractors that permits limited access to UK classified information. The BPSS, by itself, does not permit individuals access to international classified information CONFIDENTIAL or above.

In addition, international partners may hear of individuals who have undergone what is known as a „Counter-Terrorism Check‟ (CTC). This is a check conducted by the UK security authorities under certain conditions in the context of access to sensitive sites. A CTC does not permit individuals access to any UK or international classified information.

Cameron trying to keep himself in the loop at meeting with Von-Rompuy

As the conservative government contemplates a world without being tied, gagged and bound to the EU! Our erstwhile Priminster holds a bi-lateral meeting with the president of the European Council Herman Von-Rompuy, to discuss the forthcoming October European Council. Then amongst other items on his short but to the point agenda, such items as “Data Protection” with emphasis on not hog tying business, and reducing burdens on them! Of course as with deregulations, this will always leave the consumer picking up the tab, and second in line for the hand-outs, should they ever arrive!

How to Create – Extend – Get Paid More – On a Contract By the Taxpayer – For Culling Animals!

After all the controversy surrounding the badger cull, these so-called vigilantes want to extend the killing of defenceless creatures to another three weeks! A great way for the UK taxpayer to pay a cull company or third party contractor, to continue under the guise of saying this in a statement:
Extract:Natural England is currently considering an application from the cull company for a short extension of two to three weeks so as to maximise the disease control benefits achieved in this first year. We expect Natural England to make a decision on the application to extend the application in the next few days. The advice of the Chief Veterinary Officer is that further increasing the number of badgers culled would improve those benefits even further and enable them to accrue earlier.
