‘ Benjamin Netanyahu to CNN Israel Will Take ” Whatever Action is Necessary ” to Halt Hamas Cross-Border Rocket Attacks From Gaza ‘

#AceWorldNewsISRAEL (Tel Aviv) – July 20 – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel will take“whatever action is necessary” to halt Hamas cross-border rocket attacks from Gaza and restore calm but insisted his forces were doing their utmost to avoid civilian casualties there.

“We try to target military targets and unfortunately there are civilian casualties which we regret and we don’t seek,” Netanyahu told CNN shortly after an Israeli attack on a Gaza neighbourhood killed at least 87 Palestinians.

He accused Hamas of deliberately targeting Israeli civilians and of using Gaza residents as “human shields.” Asked how long it would take Israel to complete an operation it says is intended to destroy Hamas weapons tunnels, Netanyahu said it was being done “fairly quickly,” but gave no time frame.

‘ CNN Pulls Correspondent Covering Israeli-Palestinian Conflict After Tweet That Israeli’s Are Scum ‘

#AceWorldNews – UNITED STATES – July 18 – CNN has pulled correspondent Diana Magnay out of her post covering the Israeli-Palestinian conflict after the reporter tweeted that Israelis cheering bombs hitting Gaza, and who had allegedly threatened her, were “scum.”

Magnay was “threatened and harassed” before and  during her report, a CNN spokeswoman told The Huffington Post, leading to the reporter’s reaction on Twitter.

“She deeply regrets the language used, which was aimed directly at those who had been targeting our crew,” the spokeswoman added“She certainly meant no offense to anyone beyond that group, and she and CNN apologize for any offense that may have been taken.”

Israelis could be heard cheering missiles  heading for Gaza on Thursday during a live Magnay report from a hill overlooking the Israel-Gaza border.

“I think you can probably see there are lots of Israelis gathered around who are cheering when they see these kinds of Israeli strikes,” Magnay said during the report.

Following the shot, Magnay tweeted, “Israelis on hill above Sderot cheer as bombs land on #gaza; threaten to ‘destroy our car if I say a word wrong’. Scum.”

The reporter eventually deleted the tweet, but not before it had been retweeted more than 200 times.

The CNN spokeswoman said Magnay has been assigned to Moscow.

Magnay’s removal comes a day after NBC News sent its reporter on the conflict, Ayman Mohyeldin, out of Gaza.

` Railway Communications between ` Russia and Crimea' belonging to Russian State Railway Corporation (RZD) '

#AceWorldNews says that Railway communications between Russia and Crimea are not interrupted, spokespeople for the Russian State Railway Corporation RZD told Itar-Tass Sunday.

There are no restrictions either on the trains belonging to the RZD or to Ukrzaliaznytsia (the Ukrainian State Railway Transport Administration) bound from Russia to the destinations in Crimea or the other way round.

Also, there are no restrictions on the reservations or sales of tickets to and from Crimea, the spokespeople said.

Ukrzalianytsia officials said earlier in the day the booking and sales of tickets to destinations in Crimea had been suspended. CNN said in a report from Kiev quoting sources at the corporation the ticketing system would not resume operations before March 17.

A spokesman for the administration said tickets for trains bound for Crimea would not be available as of Monday, March 10.

“`Venezuela’s Maduro requests talks with `US’ over over issues of `State & Press Freedom’ – Reports”

#AceWorldNews says Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro requested an exchange of ambassadors with the United States on Friday, just days after he expelled three US diplomats from the country. Maduro called for talks with President Barack Obama’s administration during a Friday news conference that aired on state television.

“I call for a dialogue with you, Obama,” Maduro said. “You can designate [US Secretary of State John] Kerry or whoever you want to come to this dialogue and I will send my foreign minister … for this high-level meeting.” The US and Venezuela have not had resident ambassadors since 2010.

Amid demonstrations challenging his administration, Maduro has blamed the US for fomenting anti-government sentiment in Venezuela.

Opposition protests turned violent last week, as at least eight people have died amid the demonstrations.

Meanwhile, Maduro announced Thursday that his government will revoke or deny press credentials to seven CNN journalists for “war propaganda.”

Venezuela has revoked or denied press credentials for seven CNN journalists working in the country for what President Nicolas Maduro called “war propaganda” amid coverage of anti-government protests.

Before the conditions on credentials were announced, Maduro said he would eject CNN from the country if it did not “rectify” its coverage amid a spike in the unrest that has gripped Venezuela. According to officials, at least eight people have been killed since demonstrations mounted by the opposition turned violent last week.

“They want to show the world that there is a civil war in Venezuela,” Maduro said of CNN in a televised speech on Thursday.

He added that CNN was not showing “the people working, studying, building the homeland.”

“I’ve asked the [information] minister to tell CNN we have started the administrative process to remove them from Venezuela if they don’t rectify [their behavior],” Maduro said during the speech aimed at supporters, according to Reuters. “Enough! I won’t accept war propaganda against Venezuela.”

The pro-government audience applauded, chanting “Fuera! Fuera!” (“Out! Out!”)

#AceWorldNews says a group of passengers on-board Asiana Airlines Flight 214, which crash-landed in San Francisco on July 6, have filed a personal injury lawsuit against Boeing, CNN reports.
The lawsuit claims that some equipment on the plane was faulty or improperly installed or defective, resulting in inadequate warnings for the pilots regarding low airspeed.
More than 80 of the plane’s 291 passengers are named as plaintiffs in the lawsuit.
The law firm handling the suit said that Asiana and certain parts manufacturers could be added to the lawsuit at a later date.

US Media Players – Had Connection to Contractors and other Organisations -#syria

Nearly two dozen of the commentators who appeared on major media outlets to discuss a possible US military strike on Syria had relationships with contractors and other organizations with a vested interest in the conflict, according to a new report.

The Public Accountability Initiative, a non-profit research group dedicated to “investigating power and corruption at the heights of business and government,” determined that 22 of  the pundits who spoke to the media during the public debate over whether the US should bomb Syria appeared to have conflicts of interest. Seven think tanks with murky affiliations were also involved in the debate.

Some analysts held board positions or held stock in companies that produce weapons for the US military, while others conducted work for private firms with the relationships not disclosed to the public.

Perhaps the most notable example is that of Stephen Hadley, a former national security advisor to President George Bush who argued in favour of striking Syria in appearances on CNN, MSNBC, Fox News and Bloomberg TV. He also wrote an editorial in The Washington Post with the headline, “To stop Iran, Obama must enforce red lines with Assad.”

Nowhere in those appearances was it disclosed, according to the report, that Hadley is a director with Raytheon, a weapons manufacturer that produces the Tomahawk cruise missiles the US almost certainly would have used had it intervened in Syria. Hadley earns an annual salary of $128,5000 from Raytheon and owns 11,477 shares of Raytheon stock. His holdings were worth $891,189 as of August 23.

We found lots of industry ties. Some of them are stronger than others. Some really rise to the level of clear conflicts of interest,” Kevin Connor, co-author of the report, told The Washington Post. “These networks and these commentators should err on the side of disclosure.”

The report found that, out of 37 appearances of the pundits named, CNN attempted to disclose that individuals ties a mere seven times. In 23 appearances on Fox News there was not a single attempt to disclose industry ties. And in 16 appearances on NBC or its umbrella networks, attempts at disclosure were made five times.
