#AceDailyNews report police appeal for information on whereabouts of man unlawfully at large and its believed that James has been seen recently in the Essex area of England. He is known to have connections in Bradford, Lancaster and Liverpool and he is known to have connections to the Fermanagh, Belfast and Londonderry/Derry areas.
James (pictured above) is described as 5’7”, slim build (around 63.5 kg), short light brown hair with receding hairline, short brown full beard, blue eyes and speaks with a Fermanagh accent.
Police would appeal to anyone who has seen James Taggart, or who knows of his whereabouts to contact us on 101: Police would also appeal to him directly to hand himself in.
Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous.
Statement from The Police Ombudsman’s Office: The Police Ombudsman’s Office is investigating after a man was shot by police in Derry/Londonderry last night (Saturday 17 April): The man has been taken to hospital where he is understood to be in a critical condition: One police officer has been treated for stab wounds to his arm and head.The incident happened at around 10.45pm at a flat at Celandine Court in the Gobnascale area of the Waterside.
Police in Derry/Londonderry responded to a report of concern for safety for a man at an address in Celandine Court in Gobnascale at approximately 10:45pm last night (Saturday, 17th April) A police officer sustained a knife wound to his arm and head during the incident and he was taken to hospital for treatment: The Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland has been informed and is investigating: There are no further details at this time.
A spokesman for the Police Ombudsman’s Office said: “Our investigators are at the scene and are making enquiries to establish the circumstances of what happened: “At this stage, we know that police went to the flat after receiving a call for assistance. There was then a confrontation during which one police officer sustained stab wounds and police discharged CS spray and a single gunshot.“Police notified the Police Ombudsman’s on-call team about the incident, and our investigators have been making enquiries at the scene throughout the night.
