#AceWorldNews – MOSCOW – April 30 – Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov met in Havana with leader of the Cuban revolution Fidel Castro, Russia’s Foreign Ministry official said Wednesday at the close of the Minister’s visit to the Republic.
“The Russian foreign-policy chief was received by Raul Castro, President of the State Council and of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, held talks with Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodriguez, and had an informal conversation with leader of the Cuban revolution Fidel Castro,” the RF
Foreign Ministry official said.
During the meetings, held in a friendly and trust-based atmosphere characteristic of Russo-Cuban relations, the sides exchanged views on the entire spectrum of matters concerning bilateral interaction, including the development of the political dialogue, trade-and-economic, and cultural-and-humanitarian cooperation, and discussed matters of mutual interest that are on the international and regional agendas,” the Ministry official pointed out.
The Cuban leadership, the RF Ministry official noted, “reaffirmed support for Russia’s stand in view of the developments in Ukraine, and categorically declared against ‘double standards’ and sanctions”.
