@AceNewsServices ‘ Ukrainian Parliament sacks security service chief over Oil depot cover-up ‘

#AceNewsReport – UKRAINE:June.18: The Ukrainian parliament on Thursday dismissed Valentin Nalivaychenko as the head of the security service (SBU), Sputnik reported.

President Petro Poroshenko earlier asked the Verkhovnaya Rada to support his initiative to sack the SBU head, and 248 MPs agreed. Nalivaychenko was appointed the SBU head last February, and also headed the service in 2006-10.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Thursday submitted a decree to the parliament in Kiev to dismiss Ukrainian Security Service chief Valentin Nalivaychenko.

The SBU chief had earlier been questioned by prosecutors after he accused Deputy Attorney General Anatoly Danylenko of covering up an oil depot fire near Kiev.

The disagreement was seen as a new sign of infighting between the Prosecutor General’s Office and the security services, Sputnik reported.

Poroshenko’s representatives say the president wants to see a career security services employee as the SBU chief, rather than a politician or a diplomat.

`Press harassed in Crimea ‘

#AceGuestPost says ‘Free press’ in Russian eyes. Russia does not want free press and all they want is to spread only their point of you.

Press harassed in Crimea

It was a difficult night for journalists. AP had equipment stolen by armed men in Simferopol as they tried to set up a live satellite and there is footage of other cameramen being beaten by supporters of Russia.
