#AceWorldNews – ISRAEL – June 23 – Israel’s army has detained another 37 Palestinians overnight as it searched for three missing teenagers, Reuters said.
The latest operations took place in Jenin, a militant stronghold, and in the Hebron area, close to where the three disappeared while hitch-hiking.
The military says it has detained 361 people since the Israeli students went missing on June 12.
#AceNewsServices – PALESTINE – WEST BANK – May 01 – Israeli regime forces have demolished more Palestinian houses after storming a southern West Bank refugee camp near the city of al-Khalil (Hebron).
Bulldozers under the protection of Israeli military forces entered the Arrub refugee camp on Wednesday and demolished two houses in the area.
Clashes broke out at the scene between Israeli troops and local youths, who threw stones as the soldiers fired tear gas canisters and rubber-coated steel bullets.
Several residents of al-Arrub suffered excessive tear gas inhalation, witnesses were cited as saying in local press reports.
Additionally, three Palestinians were injured by rubber-coated steel bullets.
Al-Arrub is one of 19 refugee camps in the occupied West Bank, within which live about a quarter of the 771,000 registered refugees in the territory.
The Israeli occupiers rarely grant Palestinians permits to build in the West Bank, including in East al-Quds (Jerusalem).
#AceWorldNews – HEBRON – April 13 – Israel’s Defence Minister Moshe Yaalon sanctioned the return of Jewish settlers to contested West Bank homes in the city of Hebron, according to a statement from the minister’s office. “Following the court decision… Defence Minister Moshe Yaalon today (Sunday) approved habitation of the house,” the statement said, reported AFP.
The area military instructor has been told to allow a “limited number of families” in the house, Yaalon said. A Supreme Court ruling after settlers were evicted in 2008 stated that defence ministry approval would be required for families to move back.
#AceWorldNews – HEBRON – April 08 – Israeli bulldozers early Tuesday demolished agricultural structures and levelled fields in north-west Hebron, locals told Ma’an.
Witnesses said bulldozers escorted by Israeli troops entered private Palestinian fields in the Farsh al-Hawa neighbourhood and tore down four buildings used for agricultural purposes.
The structures belonged to Bassam Dweik, Arif al-Jolani, and the al-Yazori family.
Bulldozers also destroyed almond and grape vine fields in the area, locals added.
Israel rarely grants Palestinians permits to build in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. It has demolished at least 27,000 Palestinian homes and structures since occupying the West Bank in 1967, according to the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions.
Israel destroyed more than 663 Palestinian properties in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in 2013, displacing 1,101 people, according to UNOCHA. Around 241 more people have been displaced just since the beginning of 2014.
The internationally recognized Palestinian territories of which the West Bank and East Jerusalem form a part have been occupied by the Israeli military since 1967.
