#AceWorldNews – TEHRAN – May 02 – Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh says the Islamic Republic is ready to supply European countries with natural gas.
“As a country that has the capacity to supply gas in large volumes, Iran is always willing to export natural gas to Europe via pipeline or in the form of liquefied natural gas (LNG),” Zanganeh said on Saturday.
#AceWorldNews – The stances of Iran and the P5+1 group (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) on future uranium enrichment in Iran “are far apart,” Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said, as cited by Interfax.
International mediators want to find a solution based on the Geneva plan of actions, while Iranians “do not agree with this.”
“But their demands are quite far-reaching,” Ryabkov said. As for Russia, Ryabkov said, in the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program, it will not seek “to somehow play into the hands of the Americans, or the European Union, or the Iranians,” but will see its “very well-defined interest” in this process.

#AceWorldNews says that the Iran `Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli’ warned Pakistan on Monday Iranian forces might be deployed to Pakistani and Afghani territory to free border guards seized by a rebel group, AP reports.
The warning comes a week after a little known group calling itself Jaish-ul Adl tweeted photographs of five men it claimed were Iranian border guards it seized near Pakistan. Fazli asked Pakistan to take the case “strongly and seriously”, or allow to secure the remote region located on Afghani and Pakistani soil.
The minister said that if Pakistan did not comply, the Islamic Republic would consider its “right to intervene and create a new security sphere for our safety.”
#AceNewsDesk says according to `Luke Johnson – HuffPost Hill "Former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates defended President Barack Obama’s policy on Iran Friday, arguing that additional sanctions now run the risk of ending negotiations with the Islamic Republic over its nuclear program. ‘I think the president is absolutely right to oppose Congress in enacting any additional sanctions right now,’ he said, speaking to a group of reporters at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast in the St. Regis Hotel in downtown Washington.
"As hard it is for everybody to deal with, we may actually be seeing success in the policy.’ ‘They are at the table — I think the sanctions policy pursued by these presidents has worked. I think to add sanctions right now really would run a very high risk of blowing it all up.’…Gates’ comments on Iran were more definitively in favor of the administration’s stance than those he gave to ‘PBS News Hour,’ where he said that while imposing new sanctions would be a mistake, it could strengthen the administration’s position to threaten additional sanctions should negotiations break down."
