@AceNewsServices ‘ Ukrainian Parliament sacks security service chief over Oil depot cover-up ‘

#AceNewsReport – UKRAINE:June.18: The Ukrainian parliament on Thursday dismissed Valentin Nalivaychenko as the head of the security service (SBU), Sputnik reported.

President Petro Poroshenko earlier asked the Verkhovnaya Rada to support his initiative to sack the SBU head, and 248 MPs agreed. Nalivaychenko was appointed the SBU head last February, and also headed the service in 2006-10.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Thursday submitted a decree to the parliament in Kiev to dismiss Ukrainian Security Service chief Valentin Nalivaychenko.

The SBU chief had earlier been questioned by prosecutors after he accused Deputy Attorney General Anatoly Danylenko of covering up an oil depot fire near Kiev.

The disagreement was seen as a new sign of infighting between the Prosecutor General’s Office and the security services, Sputnik reported.

Poroshenko’s representatives say the president wants to see a career security services employee as the SBU chief, rather than a politician or a diplomat.

UKRAINE: ‘ VIDEOS: Oil fires still burning at Kiev depot – officials ‘

#AceNewsReport – Post Update: UKRAINE:June.10: Five oil cisterns were still on fire at an oil depot near Ukraine’s capital on Wednesday, TASS quoted head of the emergency situations service, Nikolay Chechetkin, as saying.

READ MORE: Firefighters die combating massive blaze at fuel storage facility near Kiev (VIDEO)

The Interior Ministry believes that safety violations were the likely cause for the blaze as counterfeit petroleum products were produced at the facility, TASS reported

The official said there was no danger of a new blast at the moment, but he didn’t rule it out. Four people have reportedly died as a result of the fire, and at least 12 others were injured after the inferno at the BRSM-Nafta oil depot on Monday night, which caused several tanks to explode.

UKRAINE: ‘ Donestsk People’s Republic Sign Law on Special Status of Donbass ‘

#AceNewsServices – KIEV – October 14. /TASS/. First deputy chairman of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic Council of Ministers, Andrey Purgin, on Tuesday described the signing of the law on a special status of Donbass’ certain districts as a step forward on behalf of Kiev.

“I believe that this is a positive event.

We are not terrorists and separatists any more for Ukraine.

Now we have the right to our foreign political and economic activity.

It is important that the law includes points on restoration of Donbass,” Purgin said.

“The time will show how valuable this step is and where this will lead,” he said.

Earlier, chairman of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada (parliament) Oleksandr Turchynov signed a draft law on special self-rule status to certain districts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

The draft law was submitted to the president for signing, the Ukrainian parliament’s website said.

World Jewish Congress: ‘ Anti-Semitic Attacks by Right Sector Are Over Exaggerated as War Time Propaganda’

#AceNewsServices – October 13 – Despite media reports, there has been no surge of anti-Semitic attacks in Odessa, local Jewish leaders say.

‘ One communal representative says he believes both sides in the current Ukrainian-Russian conflict are making use of Ukrainian Jewry to disparage their opponents ‘

Reports in Pravda, Izvestia and other Russian news outlets last week painted a picture of an Ukrainian Jewish community terrorized by members of the ultra-nationalist Pravy Sektor (Right Sector) movement.

According to Izvestia, Pravy Sektor “declared war” on the community, beating 20 Jews and prompting local leaders to appeal to the World Jewish Congress to “disarm and disband” the group.

“Pravy Sektor is just destroying us, it is pure militant Nazism,” Mikhail Maiman, referred to as the leader of Odessa’s Jewish community, was quoted as saying.

World Jewish Congress CEO Robert Singer said, however, that no such appeal was received and he had heard nothing about such attacks during a visit to Kiev before Succot.

Communal leaders denied any knowledge of Maiman and of such violence.

The ersatz headman “is not in any of the community’s databases and it seeks likely that he does not exist,” Chabad spokesman Berl Kapulkin wrote in a statement on his community’s website.

MOSCOW: ‘ US Lethal Weapons Deliveries to Kiev Would Undermine Minsk Agreements on Peace Resolution ‘

#AceNewsServices – MOSCOW- October 09 (RIA Novosti) – Potential US deliveries of lethal weaponry to Kiev would undermine agreements on the peaceful resolution of the current crisis in eastern Ukraine, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Thursday.

“All agreements that have been recently reached – those in Minsk on September 5 and 19 – clearly stipulate the necessity of a ceasefire, withdrawal of heavy weaponry and concrete steps in disarmament, rather than boosting up the strength of Kiev-led forces,” spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said at a news briefing in Moscow.

“This [US arms supplies] is not something that is needed to ensure political settlement in Ukraine,” the diplomat said.

When asked how his holding three passports fitted Ukrainian laws, he said: “The constitution prohibits double citizenship but triple citizenship is not forbidden.”

Ukraine’s law on local state administrations runs that in case head of a local state administration is found to have double citizenship, the president is to terminate his authority.

Kolomoisky was appointed head of the Dnipropetrovsk region state administration on March 2, 2014.

‘ Civilians Buried in Ground Show Missing Organs ‘

#AceNewsServices – UKRAINE(Donetsk)- September 27 – On the outskirts of Donetsk, miners discovered new mass graves of brutally murdered civilians.

' Victims found in mass graves in Ukraine lack internal organs '

‘ Victims found in mass graves in Ukraine lack internal organs ‘

Representatives of the People’s Republic of Donetsk believe that the civilians were killed by National Guard soldiers, as the Ukrainian troops had been staying in the settlement, where the graves were found, since April, whereas Donetsk militia occupied the village only on September 21, RIA Novosti reports.

However, Kiev officials deny the information. Earlier, a representative of the Council of National Security and Defense of Ukraine, Andrey Lysenko, said that “no soldier of the National Guard was ever staying in the location.”

Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Donetsk Alexander Zakharchenko told the Russian News Service that there were three burials of civilians found – about 40 dead bodies of civilians, prisoners of war and Ukrainian militia soldiers.

According to Zakharchenko, an examination of the bodies showed that the victims lacked internal organs. However, he noted, it remains unclear whether the organs had been harvested at the time when the victims were alive or dead.

OSCE observers confirmed reports about the discovery of three mass graves in the Donetsk region, in the village of Nizhnyaya Krynka and its surroundings on September 23.

Chairman of Just Russia Party, head of the party faction in the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Sergei Mironov, commenting on the reports, said that the Duma suggested establishing an international commission to investigate crimes against humanity and war crimes against civilians in Ukraine.

This is a very heavy blow, and politicians are trying to avoid it in view of the elections this autumn as people’s discontent may affect this process,” he said.

On Tuesday, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuri Prodan said the country was ready to agree “an interim market price” for gas imported from Russia.

We are trying to find a solution “

The question is what one can expect from the upcoming gas talks between Russia, Ukraine and the EU in Berlin on September 26.

UKRAINE: ‘ Prisoner Swap Takes Place Between Security Forces and Donestsk Republic ‘

#AceWorldNews UKRAINE (Donetsk) September 14 The much-anticipated prisoner swap between Ukrainian security forces and militia in the breakaway republic of Donetsk is under-way 30 kilometres to the north of the region’s capital city Donetsk, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

' Prisoner Swap in Ukraine Eastern Ukraine Takes Place During Cease-Fire '

‘ Prisoner Swap in Ukraine Eastern Ukraine Takes Place During Cease-Fire ‘

The swap follows a ground-breaking ceasefire agreement in Belarus’ capital Minsk on September 5 where Ukraine, Russia and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) agreed to exchange all captives held by Kiev and militias in the breakaway eastern regions, in what they described as an “all-for-all” prisoner exchange.

Negotiators were building on Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s peace plan for resolving the conflict in eastern Ukraine, as well as on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposals.

Earlier in the day, Kiev confirmed that the parties were to exchange a total of 146 captives on Sunday, following a similar swap on Friday when self-defence forces in the Donetsk People’s Republic handed over 36 Ukrainian personnel that had been apprehended in their territory during Kiev’s military operation in eastern Ukraine. In its turn, the Ukrainian government freed 31 hostages.

On Friday, the Donetsk republic’s Deputy Prime Minister, Andrei Purgin, said a total of 1,500 people could eventually be swapped.

Ukraine has been engulfed in violent internal conflict since mid-April, when Kiev began its military operation against independence supporters in the south-eastern regions of the country.

According to United Nations’ estimates, some 3,000 people have been killed and more than 6,000 wounded since the start of the offensive.

NATO SUMMIT NEWS: ' World Leaders Arrive at Summit As NATO's Top Official Accuses Russia of Attacking Ukraine '

#AceWorldNews – BRITAIN (Wales) – September 04 – As World Leaders arrive at NATO Summit it has been reported by Reuters

that NATO’s top official accused Moscow outright on Thursday of attacking Ukraine as allied leaders gathered for a summit to buttress support for Kiev and bolster defences against a Russia they now see as hostile for the first time since the Cold War.

U.S. President Barack Obama and his 27 allies meeting at a golf resort in Wales will also discuss how to tackle the Islamic State straddling parts of Iraq and Syria, which has emerged as a new threat on the alliance’s southern flank, and how to stabilise Afghanistan when NATO forces leave at year’s end.

"We are faced with a dramatically changed security environment," NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen told reporters on arrival at the summit. "To the east, Russia is attacking Ukraine."

His statement stepped up Western rhetoric against Moscow and set the tone for a two-day meeting marked by a return to east-west confrontation 25 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

UKRAINE: ' Prepares Sanctions Against Russia Through Transit Authorities Including Air-Flights and Gas Supplies to Europe Vote on Tuesday '

#AceBreakingNews – UKRAINE (Kiev) – August 08 – Ukraine ready to impose sanctions against any transit via its territory, including air flights and gas supplies to Europe, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said Friday.

Ukraine’s Parliament will vote on the sanctions on Tuesday.

Kiev has also prepared a list of 172 Russian citizens and 65 legal enitites to put under sanctions for “sponsoring terrorism, supporting the annexation of Crimea, and violating the territorial integrity of Ukraine,” Yatsenyuk said at a briefing on Friday.

Proposed sanctions include asset freezes, bans on certain enterprises, bans on privatizing state property, refusing to issue licenses, and a complete or partial ban on transit- both aviation and gas.

“We simply have no other choice,” the Prime Minister said, adding that Ukraine will use part of the $17 billion IMF aid to achieve energy independence, and may go to the World Bank for help.

Ukraine wants to “put a stop” to its gas dependence on Russia, its main source for energy to heat homes and buildings, but understands it will not be an “easy”process, Yatsenyuk told reporters.

“Ukraine is going to search the globe for the property of those who supported the annexation of Crimea,” Yatsenyuk said.

The Prime Minister estimates Ukraine could stand to lose $7 billion as a result of imposing sectorial sanctions against Russia, its biggest trading partner after the European Union.

The other three people in the group are reportedly ANNA news agency’s cameraman, an employee of the press service of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, and possibly an acquaintance of Phillips, who accompanied the journalist to the airport.

Our cameraman, Vadim, was working in the epicenter of the fighting, RT’s stringer was next to him,” ANNA news agency reported.

The agency cites anonymous sources, saying the group of four was taken hostage by Ukrainian troops.

“According to the information we have, they have been captured by Ukrainian troops. This information has been confirmed by the self-defence forces,” the head of ANNA news agency’s Ukrainian bureau, Konstantin Knyrik, told RT.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has demanded the immediate release of journalists working for RT and the ANNA news agency.

The last time Phillips got in touch with Moscow was on the evening of Tuesday, July 22.

The stringer informed Moscow he was planning to go to Donetsk airport, currently the most active war-zone in the regional centre besieged by Kiev’s troops and National Guard.

“We urged him not to go, because of the obvious risks, but based on the messages that appeared in social media a bit later, he decided to go there anyway, alongside another group of journalists,” RT’s statement maintains.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has refused to include south-eastern militia in the peace negotiations which are aimed at resolving the conflict in the country, according to his press-service.

Explaining his decision at the meeting with Netherlands’ Foreign Minister Frans Timmermans in Kiev, Poroshenko said the militia forces are to blame for the MH17 flight crash that happened on Thursday when the Malaysia airline’s plane was downed near Donetsk, resulting in 298 deaths.

Speaking about the settlement of the conflict in the Donbas, Poroshenko noted that those who are related to a terrorist attack cannot be a party in the negotiations. Their crime should be investigated in international courts,” said the press service.

Kiev armed forces are concentrating on Donetsk’s western borders preparing for an assault on the city, representative of DPR self-defense forces told RIA Novosti.

The representative also told the agency that despite a temporary truce over the MH17 flight incident, the fighting continues to the south of the city, as well as other areas. He said the anti-Kiev forces also engaged in fighting near Donetsk airport where there is a large concentration of Kiev forces.

The representative added that villages surrounding the airport suffered civilian loses, as Ukrainian tanks and four Grad rockets shelled the villages of Peski, Tonenkoe, and Andreevka. After the shelling, Ukrainian forces took the communities of Severnoe and Tonenkoe by deploying four tanks in the villages.

US President Barack Obama is once again pressuring his European allies to impose more sanctions on Russia, as he spoke to German Chancellor Angela Merkel and British Prime Minister David Cameron on the phone.

Barack Obama Pensive

“While agreeing to continue efforts to find a diplomatic solution to the current crisis, they reaffirmed their determination to remain in close contact as they consider what additional actions  may be required,” the White House said of Obama’s call with Merkel.

“They emphasized that Russia bears a clear responsibility to deny separatists in eastern Ukraine  continued access to heavy weapons and other support from inside Russia,” it said.

In their separate call, Obama and Cameron “reiterated the need to take further action if Russia continues to fail to take … steps” to de-escalate the Ukraine conflict, the White House said.

‘ USS Release Un-Verified Tape of Intercepted Phone Calls of Malaysian Airlines Being Shot-Down By Mistake ‘

#AceWorldNews – UKRAINE – July 19 – The Ukrainian Security Service has released what it calls “intercepted phone conversations,” which are supposed to prove that Donetsk self-defense forces shot down Malaysia Airlines MH17 flight on Thursday – presumably, by mistake.

The 2:33 minute clip, which Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) posted on YouTube in Ukrainian, English, German, French, Spanish, Polish, Turkish and Japanese versions, consists of three separate “conversations.”

The first “conversation” allegedly takes place between – according to SBU’s titles – militia group commander nicknamed Bes (“Igor Bezler”) and his alleged coordinator, “Vasily Geranin,” who is titled in the video as “a colonel of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces.”

“Bes” and “Geranin” are speaking about a downing of a jet, without clarifying if it’s a military or a civilian aircraft.

The second “conversation,” which allegedly happens between anti-Kiev militia members – nicknamed “Major” and “Grek” – reveals that the crashed plane was“a 100 per cent passenger aircraft.”

The third and final segment sets things straight as an unnamed “militia member” tells an alleged Cossack commander” titled as “Nikolay Kozitsin,” that there’s ‘Malaysia Airlines’ marking on the downed plane.

Relations between neighbouring Russia and Ukraine have been recently strained by a host of issues including Crimea’s merger with Russia.

Also disagreements on the price for the Russian natural gas supplies and the ongoing combat conflict in the south-eastern parts of Ukraine between pro-Kiev military forces and pro-federalization supporters, whom Kiev believes to be allegedly backed by Moscow.
