‘ Report on MH17 Delayed By Pressure From Some Western Powers That Lead to Sanctions’

#AceWorldNews – MOSCOW – September 11 It seems that the international commission on the investigation into the crash of the Malaysian airliner crash in Ukraine less than two month ago intentionally drags out the investigation as a result of pressure from some Western powers, Alexander Lukashevich, a spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, said on Thursday Itar-Tass reported.

MH17 Report Delayed by Western Powers to Allow Greater Sanctions 1061016

We point out that the process of the [report’s] publication and the process itself is delayed on purpose by the international commission,” Lukashevich said. “The presented report does not hold any convincing information on the circumstances of the airliner’s crash and the most important expertize was not conducted.”

The Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 plane (Flight MH17) crash was used for pushing through the sectoral sanctions against Russia, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Aleksandr Lukashevich said on Thursday.

We very attentively follow the investigation of the tragic catastrophe of the Malaysian Boeing that not only claimed many lives, but also was used for purposeful exacerbating international tensions, increasing pressure on the state and pushing through the so-called sectoral sanctions against Russia,” he told a briefing.

We strongly urge all the sides to abstain from hasty and groundless public accusations that not only undermine the international relations foundations, but also are outrageous facts of interference in an independent investigation,” the official added.

` Find Gareth Huntley Last Seen on May 27 on Tioman Island '

#AceNewsServices – BRITAIN – May 31 – Gareth Huntley, 34, was last seen on May 27 on Tioman Island, a popular Malaysian resort.

He was a volunteer at the Juara Turtle Sanctuary on the island and had gone to see a waterfall in the jungle, a trek that was expected to take only a couple of hours.

The volunteer’s friends raised the alarm when he failed to return, and blamed the local police for their lack of response.

So far search efforts have proved fruitless. Huntley’s family are on their way to Malaysia, and are calling on the authorities to do more to find him.

A Facebook page “Find Gareth Huntley” has also been started, warning people of fake fundraising accounts.

` Malaysian Rape Case Convictions Are Few As Those Guilty Escape Punishment by Marrying Their Victims '

#AceNewsServices – KOTA KINABALU – May 31 -The Sabah Women’s Action Resource Group (Sawo) is relieved and thankful that Riduan Masmud, the 40-year-old restaurant manager, who attempted to escape punishment under the law by marrying his child victim, has been convicted by the court.

President Winnie Yee, in a statement said the case has created widespread shock and outrage particularly among local and international groups and institutions, many of whom have expressed their concern for the well-being of the child and the many negative impacts of child marriage.

Riduan was sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment and ordered given two lashes of the cane by Sessions Court Judge Ummu Kalthom Abudl Samad in February 2014.

Malaysia – Prosecutors had pursued rape charges against a 40-year-old Malaysian who allegedly had sex with a 13-year-old girl and then married her.

Restaurant manager Riduan Masmud was charged with committing statutory rape in a parked car in Borneo, but his lawyer said he has since married the girl.

Rights activists have long criticized Malaysian laws that allow very young Muslims to be wedded with the permission of Islamic courts.

Attorney General Abdul Gani Patail said that authorities remain firmly against statutory rape and were compiling a DNA report and other evidence in Riduan’s case.

Riduan is already married to another woman and reportedly has four children. Malaysian Muslim men can have up to four wives.

There’s been outrage in Sabah against a 40-year-old man, Riduan Masmud. who’s defended his marriage to a 13-year-old girl he’s been accused of raping as consensual.

The Sabah Law Association’s Mariati Robert had been holding a watching brief during the case and believes marriage should not let Riduan off the hook, especially if it happened after he allegedly raped her.

` Malaysian Police Arrest Thirteen People Including Father and Son Over Alleged Rape of Teenage Girls '

#AceWorldNews – KUALA LUMPUR – May 31 – Latest Update – Malaysian police have arrested at least 13 people, including a father and his two sons, over the alleged gang-rape of two teenage girls, an officer said on Friday.

The girls — aged 15 and 17 — were raped on May 20 for hours by a group of men in an abandoned hut in the northern state of Kelantan, Lai Yong Heng, the state’s director of crime investigation, said.

Police have arrested 13 men, aged from 15 to 38, and are looking for “a few more” in connection with the gang-rape, he added.

Lai dismissed early reports that almost 40 people took turns in the rape, saying the number was fewer.

“It’s definitely more than 10. We are still investigating,” he told AFP.

All those detained are from the same village, where the assault took place, and some are related, Lai said. Most of them were believed to have been on drugs, and the girls were lured to the hut.

Suri Kempe, an official with women’s rights group Sisters in Islam, said the frequent number of rape cases being reported was “extremely worrying”.

“Boys are being raised in a culture where being masculine means being aggressive, and that it’s perfectly acceptable to use violence to get what you want,” she said in a statement.

Almost 3,000 rape cases were reported in 2012 in the South-east Asian country of 28 million people, according to police statistics, with many of the victims aged 16 and below.

` Indonesia Tests Products of Cadbury to Check if they Comply to Islamic Standards '

#AceWorldNews INDONESIA (Jakarta) – May 30 – Indonesia is testing products made by British confectioner Cadbury to check they comply with Islamic standards, officials said on Friday.

The move follows a scandal in neighbouring Malaysia, after two chocolate varieties were found to be contaminated with pork DNA, Reuters said. “It is prudent to do a test on the other variants to see if they also have traces of the pig DNA,” said Roy Alexander Sparingga, head of Indonesia’s Food and Drug Monitoring Agency.

Some Muslim groups in Malaysia have called for a boycott on all products made by Cadbury over the ingredient banned under Islamic dietary laws.

(Asiaone) – Malaysian Islamic authorities tried to cool anger against Cadbury by saying it remained unclear if the contamination was the company’s fault. “People need to understand that we can’t immediately take action against Cadbury when there’s no solid evidence yet or if contamination occurred in the factory itself or if it was external factors,” said Othman Mustapha, the director general of Malaysia’s Department of Islamic Development, or JAKIM. “What’s happening to Cadbury now is akin to a person who’s remanded and placed in lockup. They have not been found guilty so this is just a suspension,” he added.

JAKIM, which is responsible for awarding halal certification in Malaysia, is conducting further tests on the suspect Cadbury products to confirm the initial findings by the health ministry.

Malaysia Authorities Dampen Concerns

Cadbury Malaysia said in a statement that it had withdrawn the two products as a precaution and that it had no reason to believe there was pork-related content in its other foods.

“We stand by our halal certification and we have the highest levels of product labelling standards,” it said.

Products in Muslim nations are regularly checked to ensure they are halal. Besides pork, items considered non-halal by Muslims include alcohol and the meat of animals and birds that have not been slaughtered according to Islamic rites.

` Media: ` Malaysia’s missing ` Boeing ‘ passes repair over `Right Wing ‘ malfunction in 2012 ‘

#AceWorldNews says that missing airliner Boeing 777-200 of the Malaysian Airlines passed repair over right wing malfunction in 2012, aviation expert Bernard Chabbert said on French radio station Europe-1 on Saturday – Paris Tass.

“In 2012 an incident occurred with the airliner at China’s Shanghai airport,” the French expert said. He noted that then the airliner collided at the airfield with another aircraft belonging to the Chinese Southern Airlines.

“Large-scale repair was made on it, particularly some part of the right wing had to be replaced,” he added.
Meanwhile, Chabbert noted that this incident could not be directly linked with current incident.
“However, it is important to know about the service life of the airliner and this incident makes integral part of it,” he noted.

The plane disappeared from radars about two hours after the take-off from the Malaysian capital at 02:40 local time (18:40 GMT on Friday), when the plane was over the South China Sea some 120 nautical miles from the city of Kota Bharu.

Four French citizens were among passengers. French Transport Minister Frederic Cuvillier notified the authorities in Vietnam and Malaysia that France was prepared to assist in the search for the missing airliner.

Specialists from the French Investigation and Analyses Bureau for Civil Aviation Security are prepared to come for help to local rescue service.
