(LIVERPOOL, U.K.) JUST IN: Merseyside Police Report: Detectives have launched a murder investigation following incident in the city centre on Thursday night around 20:30hrs #AceNewsDesk report

#AceNewsReport – Nov.26: Officers were called at approximately 8.39pm to reports of an assault: When officers arrived they discovered that Ava, who had been with friends, collapsed on the ground and a member of the public who witnessed the incident was giving first aid: Paramedics attended at the scene and Ava was taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, where sadly she died a short time later despite the best efforts of medical staff: A Home Office post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death.

#AceDailyNews Merseyside Detectives Report: A murder investigation launched following incident in Liverpool city centre: It is with great sadness that we confirm that a 12-year-old girl, Ava White, has died following an incident in Liverpool city centre last night (Thursday, 26 November)…….Four males – one aged 13, two aged 14 years and one aged 15 years, all from Toxteth have been arrested on suspicion of murder:

Ava White.jpg

Assistant Chief Constable Jon Roy, said:

” Our thoughts and condolences go out to Ava’s family, who are being supported specialist Family Liaison officers. Their world has been torn apart and no parent should ever have to face that knock on the door from police officers to say that their child has died.

“We believe that Ava and her friends had been involved in a verbal argument which culminated in Ava being assaulted causing catastrophic injuries. And we understand that the offenders were then seen to run up School Lane across Hanover Street and on to Fleet Street.

“We have arrested four males aged, one aged 13 years, two aged 14 years and one aged 15 from Toxteth, on suspicion of murder and they are currently being interviewed at police stations on Merseyside.

“Liverpool City Centre was very busy at the time of the incident as the lights on the Christmas tree on Church Street had been officially switched on a short while earlier and we would appeal to anyone who was on Church Street who saw the incident, or may even have captured it on their mobile phone, to come forward.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident, or may even have filmed the incident, or who has information which could help us with our inquiries, is asked to DM @MerPolCC, message ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre on Facebook’ or @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 with reference 0899 of 25 November.

“There will be additional officers in the city over the coming days and in the run up to Christmas who will be providing visible reassurance to those who live, work and visit the city.

“Ava’s death should be a reminder to us all about the part that we each have to play in eliminating violence against women and girls.

“Ava died on White Ribbon Day which is a global campaign to end violence against women, and yesterday partners from around the city joined together to mark the day, which is also the start of 16 days of activity designed to raise awareness of VAWG and show how we are working together to make sure that VAWG is something that should not be tolerated in any society.”

He added: “An extensive cordon remains in place at the scene (which includes Williamson Square, Tarleton Street, Church Street, Church Alley, School Lane crossing over Hanover Street on to Fleet Street) whilst forensic experts continue their examinations. We will endeavour to release the scene as soon as is practically possible, but we would ask members of the public for their understanding and patience whilst our investigations are being carried out so that we can bring justice for Ava and her family.”

(LIVERPOOL, U.K.) Merseyside Police Statement Report: Officers have reviewed reports recorded between 1st September and 22nd October this year. During that period we received 17 reports of people who believed they had had their drinks spiked #AceNewsDesk report

#AceNewsReport – Oct.24: STATEMENT NOTES: Liverpool local policing Superintendent Diane Pownall said: “We are aware that there has been a number of reports nationally about people having their drinks spiked or people reporting being injected: While we understand that people may be alarmed by these reports I want to reassure people that we have not received a huge number of reports in relation to incidents of this nature on Merseyside: We have reviewed reports recorded between 1st September and 22nd October this year. During that period we received 17 reports of people who believed they had had their drinks spiked: It is important that people are reassured that these reports have been extensively investigated with officers examining CCTV, speaking to victims and potential witnesses and looking into medical evidence. Following those enquiries two remain under investigation: This matter remains under constant review and is also monitored through weekly licensing meetings. We are also liaising with the Student Safety Group, licensed premises and other partners: Liverpool is awarded Purple Flag status every year and is one of the safest cities in the UK. We know that people travel far from far and wide to enjoy what is on offer here and we want that to continue: In April we launched our proactive policing response, Operation Empower, where dedicated officers are tasked with identifying potential perpetrators who are displaying signs of predatory behaviour and to disrupt those who present a potential risk. Officers are also asked to be aware of anyone who may be vulnerable to ensure any immediate safeguarding concerns are met: Every week we also have an additional number of uniformed officers on the streets of the city and I would encourage anyone with any concerns to approach our patrols and speak to them.”

#AceDailyNews – Merseyside Police statement on reports of drink spiking/people being injected: During the same period we received five reports that people believed they had been injected. Extensive witness, CCTV and medical enquiries have been carried out and three currently remain under investigation.

(LONDON) NCA REPORT: Officer arrested six of the group at addresses across Merseyside, supported by Merseyside Police, a seventh in Glasgow assisted by Police Scotland and the eighth was produced from prison.

#AceNewsReport – Mar.17: Analysis of messages acquired as part of Operation Venetic – an investigation into the encrypted messaging platform EncroChat – supported the investigation.

Operation Venetic: Eight arrested in connection with industrial scale Amphetamine production plot: ‘Members of a suspected criminal group accused of trafficking heroin and producing amphetamine worth millions of pounds have been arrested today as part of an investigation linked through EncroChat’

Officers believe they were planning to produce large quantities of amphetamine at a location in Scotland, as well as trafficking heroin from Scotland to Merseyside: The group, aged between 34 and 66, remain in custody: On 4 December 2020, as part of the same investigation, more than 620kg of APAA – a substance used in the manufacture of amphetamine – was seized and two men arrested after arriving on a flight from Turkey: Both were later released under investigation.

Ian McConnell, NCA Operations Manager, said: “Producing amphetamine on an industrial scale would have devastating consequences for the community – drug trafficking thrives on inciting violence, spreading fear and exploiting vulnerable children and adults for criminal gain: “ Today’s action has led to the arrest of eight suspected members of an organised crime group and will continue to target those at the top of the drug market chain, to make their businesses unviable and keep people safe.”

(LIVERPOOL, U.K.) Court Report: Officers have welcomed the sentencing of a 28-year-old man who is the latest to be jailed in connection with an international operation targeting criminals who used a mobile encryption service to try to evade detection #AceNewsDesk report

#AceNewsReport – Mar.13: Thomas Brabbins, 28, of Cherry Tree Road, Huyton, was sentenced to seven years six months at Liverpool Crown Court yesterday (Thursday 11 March).

Operation Venetic Report: ‘Fifth man jailed after criminal encrochat service cracked: Brabbins used the Encrochat handle ‘coastalsummer’ to manufacture and distribute large quantities of cocaine and cannabis from his Huyton home’

He pleaded guilty to:

• Conspiracy to Supply Class A Drugs – Cocaine
• Conspiracy to Supply Class B Drugs – Cannabis
• Possession of Class B Drugs With Intent to Supply – Cannabis
• Possession of Criminal Property – Cash & Watches
• Possession of Criminal Property – Cash
• Possession of Class B Drugs – Cannabis

On Sunday 14 June, officers executed a Misuse of Drugs Act Warrant and found cash totalling more than £30,000 and two Rolex watches valued at more than £10,000 at Brabbins’ home address. He was arrested, interviewed and later released under investigation.

On Thursday 12 November, Brabbins was seen to be acting suspiciously when officers stopped a car he was travelling on Brodie Avenue. He was found to be in possession of three mobile phones and more than £2,000 in cash. He was subsequently arrested and later charged.

A total of five Merseyside men have been jailed this year after the operation, which has involved European law enforcement agencies working with the NCA and supported across the UK by police forces and Regional Organised Crime Units.

The operation came about after law enforcement officials in Europe managed to crack the ‘encrochat’ service being used by criminals involved in serious and organised crime to carry out their business. Arrests are continuing on Merseyside as part of this operation.

Around 60,000 users of encrochat have been identified worldwide, with about 10,000 of them in the UK – all involved in coordinating and planning the supply and distribution of drugs and weapons, money laundering and other criminal activity.

Detective Sergeant Anthony Meakins said: “The sentencing yesterday shows just how seriously police and the courts take those organised criminals who supply drugs across Merseyside and beyond: Thomas Brabbins was supplying large amounts of illegal drugs and generating vast profits in doing so. He will now perhaps take time to reflect on the risks he took and the harm he caused, while serving his jail time: “ Brabbins thought that by using encrypted devices he could evade justice. He was wrong, and he won’t be last to realise this: “ As part of Operation Venetic, Merseyside Police has so far arrested more than 70 people, many of whom have been charged with serious drug trafficking or firearms offences. This year will see a number of these people continuing to appear before the courts, and we welcome each and every one: “ Merseyside Police, along with law enforcement agencies across the world, will leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of those people who think they are above the law: “ Merseyside and many areas of the UK are safer thanks to this operation, and we will continue to target anyone involved in serious organised crime to keep this positive momentum going.”
