RUSSIA/CHINA: ‘ Agreement on Far East Land Lease for 50-years ‘

#AceNewsReport – Russia and China will have the possibility to develop their cooperation in the agricultural field to the full extent.

Crimea Presents Agricultural, Industrial Projects in Saudi Arabia

The agreement between Russia’s Zabaikalsky Territory and Chinese company Huae Sinban to lease 115,000 hectares of Russian farmland to China is not only a major step in agricultural cooperation, but also a perfect example of trust between the two countries, according to an article from the Chinese newspaper Huanqiu Shibao.

The author of the article, Wang Haiyun, is senior advisor at the Chinese Institute for International Strategic Studies.

He believes that now Russia and China will have the possibility to develop to the full extent their cooperation in the agricultural field.

Rostselmash, among the world's largest agricultural equipment producers, has ambitious plans to increase its exports by 20 percent this year, noting that the devaluation of the ruble has increased the company's cost competitiveness. Pictured: ACROS-500 grain harvesters

Major Russian Agricultural Equipment Firm Plans 20% Increase in Exports in 2015

The fact that Russian authorities agreed to lease such an immense territory for 49 years proves that Moscow has no ideological prejudice towards Beijing, the article said.

For a long time Russian society believed in the mythical Chinese threat, including economic expansion and territorial claims, the author wrote. The recent agreement shows the high level of mutual confidence between Russia and China.

He stressed the need to “think open” and to eradicate absurd claims that for China agricultural cooperation means territorial expansion.

Armata main battle tank

Why May China and India Need Russia’s Armata Super Tank?

Expansion is contrary to Chinese cultural values and its policy towards Russia. Expansion allegations are a provocation by unfriendly forces aimed against the blooming Russian-Chinese cooperation, Haiyun concluded.

He also expresses hopes that the agricultural industry will be a perspective field for long-term cooperation between the two countries and would help find a way to resolve the global food crisis.

FRANCE: ‘ Paris regrets loss of Russian Arms Market ‘

#AceNewsReport – FRANCE:Exclusive Interview:June.14: While France is taking a hard anti-Russian stance due to the Ukrainian crisis, other European nations are busy signing new billion-dollar contracts with Russia, said Philippe Migault, a military expert from the French Institute of International and Strategic Affairs.

' Paris Regrets loss of French Arms Market '
‘ Paris Regrets loss of Russian Arms Market ‘

Since French companies don’t have access to the two main global arms markets – the United States and China – they face fierce competition for markets in the Middle East and Asia.

That is why voluntarily losing the Russian market, one of the most promising and emerging arms markets in the world, is a silly move on behalf of the French government, Migault told Sputnik France in an exclusive interview.

“We risk regretting this very soon,” the military expert said.

France had the opportunity to deliver two Mistral-class helicopter carriers to Russia; however, Paris complied with Washington’s pressure and decided to cancel the $1.3 billion contract.

France went against its own idea of economic patriotism, highly regarded during the current economic crisis, by abandoning the Mistral deal. Economic patriotism requires the support of exports and the protection of jobs, but France did the exact opposite by cancelling the arms deal

MERS virus spreading across Asia, South Korea fails to contain outbreak

#AceNewsServices -Featured Post: South Korea:June.11: Hong Kong issued a red alert and advised against travelling to South Korea, where an epidemic of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) is gaining pace. The virus is spreading despite attempts to contain the outbreak.

In Korea, the number of infected people passed 100 this week, reaching 122 on Thursday. Tenth patient died from the disease, health officials said on Thursday. Most of the victims are elderly patients with other health problems unrelated to the virus. Over 3,250 people remain in quarantine.

Two people in Hong Kong who traveled to South Korea recently are being tested for possible MERS contagion, the authorities said on Thursday. Previously 31 people were tested negative in Hong Kong.

Earlier a man tested positive for the disease in China after coming from S. Korea, and a man in Taiwan was taken to hospital with symptoms consistent with MERS.

South Korean authorities are trying to stop the spread of the virus by closing schools and canceling public events. Neighbors in the region are scaling down tourist travel to South Korea, with Hong Kong alone scrapping 600 tours to the MERS-hit country.

SYRIA: ‘ Muslims Defy ISIL & Open New Mosque Named After Virgin Mary ‘

#AceBreakingNews – SYRIA:June.07: Muslims in the Syrian city of Tartous have inaugurated a mosque named after the Virgin Mary, the Syrian Arab News Agency has reported. Observers called the opening a symbol of peace and religious tolerance between the country’s multiethnic, multi-confessional society.

Speaking at the inauguration, Syrian Minister of Religious Endowments Mohammad Abdul-Sattar al-Sayyed noted that this was the first time in the Muslim world when a mosque has been named after the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus Christ. He added that the mosque embodies calls for amenity and fraternity between Syrians of all faiths.

Al-Sayyed noted that Syria is one of the places where Islamic culture and architecture originated, adding that Syrians of all confessions deplore and condemn the barbarity with which ultra-extremists from ISIL and other terrorist groups operating inside Syria demolish and deface places of worship.

Tartous and Lattakia Maronite Patriarchate representative Antoine Deeb noted that the symbolic gesture of naming the Mosque after Mary shows that Islam and Christianity share the messages of peace and love.

MOSCOW: ‘ PUTIN VOICES OPINION OF THE WEST’S TREATMENT OF RUSSIA ‘

#AceNewsServices – MOSCOW – October 24 – Vladimir Putin has voiced his disagreement with the West’s position on Russia, which he likened to the Latin proverb

“What is permissible for Jove is not permissible for an ox.”

However, he said “a bear” won’t ask anyone for permission.

Stressing how different the international reaction to Kosovo and Crimea referendums was, the Russian president reminded of the proverb ‘Quod licet Iovi, non licet bovi’.

We cannot agree with such definitions,” he said.

“Maybe it isn’t permissible for an ox, but I have to say that a bear will not ask anyone for permission,” Putin jested, adding that a bear is “the master of the taiga” and it will not give it up to anyone.

The Russian leader attended the Valdai Discussion Club in Sochi on Friday where he touched a wide range of topics – from Islamist militants in the Middle East to the state of Russian economy.

Putin lashed out at the United States for destabilizing the world order of checks and balances for its own gains.

He also accused the West of inflaming the situation in Ukraine and said Russia was not interested in building an empire.

‘ US STATE DEPARTMENT ISSUES GLOBAL TERRORISM ALERT TO ALL AMERICAN’S TRAVELLING TO ABROAD ‘

The State Department is renewing its global terrorism alert for Americans travelling abroad, saying it sees a heightened risk of reprisal attacks from the Islamic State group and its supporters.

In a new “worldwide caution” issued on Friday, the department said terrorist groups continue to plot strikes against Americans and U.S. interests in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

It said authorities believe there is “an increased likelihood” of reprisal attacks from Islamic State militants since the U.S. and its coalition partners launched military action against the group in Iraq and Syria.

The alert replaces an existing warning issued in April and also notes the growing threat of kidnapping perpetrated by terrorists.

‘ Ali Khamenei Accuses Western Countries of Instigating a Rift Among Muslims by “Creating the ISIS in Iraq and Syria ‘

#AceNewsServices – UNITED STATES (New York) – October 18 – On the day before the most crucial round of Iran’s diplomatic talks with world powers on achieving a solution to the impasse of its nuclear program, Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei has found time again to bash the Western countries involved in the talks by accusing them of instigating a rift among Muslims by “creating the ISIS in Iraq and Syria.”

Behrooz Behbudi, Founder of the Centre for a Democratic Iran, Comments:

Behrooz Behbudi, Founder of the Centre for a Democratic Iran, Comments:

“The evil Britain has created the ISIS and al Qaeda to confront the Islamic republic of Iran and the Islamic awakening across the world,” Khamenei claimed in a speech on Monday.

Khamenei’s paranoia of “the enemy”

Khamenei’s paranoia of “the enemy”

https://soundcloud.com/dr-behrooz-behbudi/khameneis-paranoia-of-the-enemy

“America, Zionism, and especially the veteran expert of spreading divisions – the wicked government of Britain – have sharply increased their efforts of creating divisions between the Sunnis and Shia,” he said.

The speech, marking the Shia Muslim religious holiday of Eid Al Ghadir, was posted on his website, where he has also published video footage showing his recovery from a recent prostate surgery.

The Centre for a Democratic Iran, a non-profit organisation whose mission is to promote and pursue an independent, peaceful and democratic Iran, followed these events with great interest.

CDI Founder, Behrooz Behbudi, offered his thoughts:

“In parallel with every foreign and domestic policy that the self-declared moderate administration of Hassan Rouhani has been taking to get Iran out of the socio-economic calamities that the eight years of Ahmadinejad rule has created, one can clearly see a deliberate hard-line policy by Khamenei to derail a return by Iran and the Iranians to peace and prosperity, however minimal given Rouhani’s allegiance to the regime.

However, Khamenei’s “radicalism” and ranting against Western powers is in fact a facade that is aimed at concealing his political and leadership weaknesses, as well as demonstrating his paranoia about the roots of the problems among the Muslims of the Middle East.

In raging against the US and Britain in his speech Khamenei is deliberately acting as a political player to distance himself from the behind the scene deals that his regime officials are making with world powers, with the help of the Russians as their mediators.

Islamic State is undoubtedly a threat to the peace and security of the Middle Eastern nations as well as the West, as we have watched their barbaric acts with horror on our TV screens.

However, by claiming that “the ISIS has been set up to confront the Islamic republic,” Khamenei – who incidentally refers to himself as the Caliph of Shia Muslims – wants us to forget that a similar type of extremist ideology in the name of Islam has for long actually been practiced by the very regime that he leads in Iran.

Furthermore, it is a well-known fact among Iran’s political forces that Khamenei owes his leadership status more to behind the scene power broking tactics by former president Rafsanjani than anything else, as his credentials as a cleric have never been accepted by Iran’s religious establishment, a complex that he has long concealed by advocating his bankrupted “political Islam”.

Since ascending to power and turning into an absolute religious leader and skilled political player, Khamenei has managed to dominate the political scene of Iran by empowering the Revolutionary Guard, the Basij militias and the security and intelligence organs of the regime around his “anti-American-Israeli” paranoia.

In reality, as world powers begin a new round of negotiations with the Islamic republic over the nuclear issue, they are effectively trying to reach a deal with another fundamentalist “Islamic State” that is ruling Iran with Khamenei at its Caliph in the name of the medieval system of Velayat-e Faqhi, or the Islamic government.

The irony remains however that Western powers are at the same time mulling over whether to involve the military forces of this dictatorship in Iran to help them overthrow the barbarism of the ISIS in its neighboring country in an act of appeasement to Khamenei and his associates in the Revolutionary Guard.

You cannot ask one dictator to join your forces to fight against another dictator in defence of freedom and humanity.

‘ Middle East is Ruled by Militias That Have Risen Since Arab Spring ‘

#AceNewsServices (Opinion) – October 14 – Embattled governments in Iraq and Syria have come to rely on Shiite militias as their armies have crumbled in the face of mostly Sunni insurgents and rebels.

In Libya, various armed groups loosely allied with two rival governments have fought over bullet-riddled airports.

Shiite rebels in Yemen have swept down from the north, capturing the capital and, on Tuesday, a key port city.

The chaos unleashed by the Arab Spring has led to the rise of powerful militias – including many Islamic extremist groups – across a Middle East where many central governments have been exposed as weak.

Some of the groups are allied with the governments, while others are fighting to topple them.

Some – like the Kurdish peshmerga in northern Iraq – are seen as vital allies for the West.

All could prove to be major obstacles to peace or stability in the region.

A former U.S. Army Ranger from Indianapolis who was deployed to Iraq in 2007, Kassig went to help Syrian refugees in a Lebanese hospital and, in the spirit of humanitarianism shared by his fellow Islamic State captives, started his own aid group.

' Special Emergency Response and Assistance '

‘ Special Emergency Response and Assistance ‘

The group, called Special Emergency Response and Assistance, supplied Syrian refugees with blankets, cooking stoves, propane fuel tanks and other necessities, according to a 2013 Time article about the Indiana native.

The 26-year-old said he was inspired and touched by the warm reaction of Syrian locals who received the assistance.

“I did not meet a single man woman or child who could not muster a smile and a message of strength and hope that was nothing short of earth-shatteringly humbling,” he said then.

He disappeared in October 2013, on his way to Deir Ezzour in eastern Syria, while on a SERA relief effort, WTHR-TV reported. At the request of his kidnappers, his family kept silent about his abduction while trying to secure his release. Former hostages told the family Kassig had converted to Islam during his captivity and his faith has sustained him during his imprisonment.

In a statement released to the station, parents Ed and Paula Kassig of Indianapolis said: “We ask everyone around the world to pray for the Henning family, for our son, and for the release of all innocent people being held hostage in the Middle East and around the globe.”

‘ Radical Sheik Calls for Murder of US Troops ‘

#AceNewsServices – TUNISIA – September 29 – A radical Tunisian sheik who has called for the murder of U.S. troops abroad and was banned from the United States for supporting the terror group Hamas is scheduled to headline an event on Tuesday at Yale University focusing on Islamic law and civilization, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.

Sheikh Rachid al-Ghannouchi, the head of Tunisia’s controversial Islamist Ennahda Movement, is scheduled to head a lecture Tuesday afternoon Yale’s Law School, according to the school’s website.

Al-Ghannouchi’s upcoming appearance at the Ivy League school could become controversial given the sheik’s longtime support for radical terror groups and his past calls for Muslims to wage “unceasing war against the Americans.”

Al-Ghannouchi is the leading figure in Tunisia’s previously banned but hugely popular Islamist Ennahda (“Resistance”) political party, which despite being billed as “moderate” by many, has a history of violence inside and outside of Tunisia.

Al-Ghannouchi was a founding trustee and board member of a group that signed onto a notorious2004 fatwa endorsing the murder of U.S. troops in Iraq and has personally urged the Muslim world to “burn and destroy” U.S. interests across the globe.

“There must be no doubt that we will strike anywhere against whoever strikes Iraq,” the sheikh said during a speech in the early 1990s and reported on by Middle East scholar Martin Kramer.

“We must wage unceasing war against the Americans until they leave the land of Islam, or we will burn and destroy all their interests across the entire Islamic world,” al-Ghannouchi was quoted as saying. “Muslim youth must be serious in their warning to the Americans that a blow to Iraq will be a license to strike American and Western interests throughout the Islamic world.”

The sheik’s violent rhetoric, radical leanings, and endorsement of Hamas led him to be banned from entering the United States for a time.

UAE: ‘ Trafficking Children as Child-Jockeys ‘

#AceNewsServices (SEA – Exclusive) – September 23 – Apparently, human beings have managed to assimilate the crabs’ ability to walk forth and back with equal ease. This is evident in many human activities, particularly in the field of human rights, where bigger steps backward often reverse smaller steps forward. The case of the camel child-jockeys in the Middle East is just one more clamorous example.

' Child Jokey's Trafficked as Bangladesh Slaves '

‘ Child Jokey’s Trafficked as Bangladesh Slaves ‘

Camel racing is an old Bedouin tradition in the Arab region, particularly in countries with large deserts. In recent decades, it has become a lucrative tourist attraction. Unlike the fights between gladiators and between men and lions in old Rome, and present-day dog-fights and cock-fights in the U.S. and China, as well as the bull-fights in Spain – all of which end with the death of one of the combatants – camel racing used to be a way of showing the tribesmen pride for possessing the best camels in the region.

Part One:

Gradually, these races were transformed in a sort of organized business. This required more sophisticated preparations, such as the use of light-weight riders or jockeys. The human mind understood that young children appeared as the best option for the job. Human trafficking networks came to the rescue for provision of “supplying” the demands of this strenuous business.

Recruited by human traffickers with the promise of a better life, thousands of children were hijacked or bought from the poorest families in poor countries, such as Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sudan and then ‘exported’ to the Gulf countries, for their exploitation as camel-jockeys.

Part Two

STARVED TO SERVE

Once trafficked into Gulf-States, children became totally dependent on their owners. Race organizers would go further – they would force those children to work hard without eating, to the very limit of starvation.

Perhaps one of the most comprehensive professional media reports on this issue is the one filed by Al Jazeera’s reporter Nicolas Haque on May 22 from Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Haque tells the story of a boy called Shameem Miah, who was just three years old when he travelled to the Gulf state of Dubai. “Lured by the promise of a better life, his family says they sold all of their land and belongings, even going into debt, in order to pay for the move,” Haque reports.

He goes on: “Shameem Miah is one of 879 Bangladeshi children who will receive compensation from the United Arab Emirates for years of suffering as child camel-jockey. The Bangladeshi authorities have received 1.43 million dollars from the UAE, which will be distributed among the families of former child-jockeys.” Commenting on the UAE’s decision to economically compensate the child victims of such practices and their families, Haque says “this is an unprecedented move to compensate child-jockeys for camel races”.

Haque then explains that a strong pressure from human rights groups led the UAE to ban the use of child-jockeys in 2005. Most had been trafficked from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sudan.

According to the report, Shameem’s father paid 4,500 dollars to migrant traffickers who had promised him gainful employment in the UAE. The traffickers had arranged for the children to work as well.

On arrival in Dubai, Shameem and his two brothers – then aged five and six – were separated from their parents to take part in camel races,” tells Haque. “A toddler, Shameem had only just learnt to walk when he was first seated upon a camel’s back.”

I used to be so scared of the camels, at the beginning, I would fall off the camels all the time,” Shameem says. His brother Muna says that Shameem was so small that he had to be strapped on to the camel, says the report, adding that the children’s “terrified screams drove the camels to race even faster, much to the satisfaction of the camel owners”.

Prized for their light-weight, the child-jockeys say they were intentionally starved, often going days without food, in order to keep them below 20 kilos, says the report.

The camel owners would weigh us and if we ate too much, they would give us electrical shocks. I was so scared of them, I remember, if I would lose a race they would beat me,” Shameem is quoted saying.

Haque reports that “to this day, Shameem bears the scars of five years of abuse by his employer, and countless falls”. Many other child-jockeys, however, have suffered much worse, sustaining life-long injuries from being trampled under the charging camels. Some are known to have died. “For five years Shameem and his brother lived and worked in a barbed wire encircled camp near the desert race track, where they often labored 18 hours a day for a payment of only four dollars a month,” Al Jazeera reporter says.

CHILDREN, SOLD INTO SLAVERY

Even this tiny wage was of help to Shameem’s father, 45-year-old Abul Kashem Miah – many children were in effect sold into slavery and received nothing.  “For Shameem’s father, the situation was heartbreaking,” says Haque. “He deeply regrets that he could not prevent the use of his sons as camel jockeys, saying: ‘All I could think of was paying off our debt and getting out of poverty so that we could leave to go back to Bangladesh’.”

The report goes on to tell that at the age of eight, Shameem was discarded by his employer, deemed too old and heavy to race camels. But it’s clear that his experience of camel jockeying will remain with him forever,” says the report, “as he describes training with the camel every day, being fed just biscuits and water, allowed to sleep – only when completely exhausted – alongside the other children, directly on the sand.”

He says he rarely rode with a helmet and constantly burned his feet on the hot desert sand because he had not been given shoes.”

Haque informs that only 874 former child-jockeys will receive compensation despite the fact that many more are believed to have been trafficked. Most of those still awaiting payment are now teenagers.

The report also takes up the issue of missing children, saying that according to the UK-based human rights group, Anti-Slavery International, some 2,000 unaccounted for child camel jockeys have not yet returned to their families from the Gulf states.

UGLY FACE

Nevertheless, there is still the ugly face of some communities which have the luxury to see the children suffering and working to starve them so as to lose weight in order to win in these old Bedouin practices called camel races.

Despite curbing bans international pressure, child slaves still continue to be used as camel jockeys in many parts of UAE and Gulf States. The children are trafficked and sold or lent at low prices, to other countries.

The hugest obstacle is that the camel jockey races are held under the pretext of development and promotion of tourism.

pg-24-camel-jockeys

A recent example being the camel-racing festival at Sweihan in Abu Dhabi, the photographs and videos released to the international media showed young children riding camels at this event that was also attended by dignitaries and uniformed police officers.

Observers from the UK-based Anti-Slavery International advocacy group also saw one child fall from a camel and narrowly escape being trampled on at the same race-rack. The presence of UAE authorities at the event is also disturbing as it indicates that even senior government officials are not taking child protection very seriously, despite the ban.

REPATRIATED BACK INTO ANOTHER HELL

Over the years, many children and boys were simply handed back to the unscrupulous parents who sold them in the first place. expressed their grave concern about these practices. A large number of them get handed over to madrassas (religious schools) and orphanages funded and controlled by extremist groups.

Their repatriation has not necessarily led to their rehabilitation or reintegration back into society, in fact it’s an escape from one kind of hell to another.

The time has come to put an end to this barbaric, inhumane and appalling menace. Till that time nobody really knows how many more childhoods will be stolen – all for the pleasure of the rich-Arabs of Middle East, self-proclaimed followers of the true tradition of Islam.

‘ Khorasan Group Geared to Attack Western Targets’

#AceNewsServices – WASHINGTON – September 21 – A brand new intelligence has emerged warning Washington that its upcoming confrontation with the Islamic State may leave it blind to a more sinister and direct threat from a much lesser known terrorist group that has arisen from the ashes of the Syrian war.

Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri (AFP Photo / SITE)

Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri (AFP Photo / SITE)

Very little information is being released at the moment by anyone within American intelligence and law enforcement circles, but the group calling itself Khorasan is said by officials to have concrete plans for striking targets in the United States and Europe as a chosen modus operandi – more so than the Islamic State (IS), formerly known as ISIS.

The first ever mention of the group occurred on Thursday at an intelligence gathering in Washington DC, when National Intelligence Director James Clapper admitted that in terms of threat to the homeland, Khorasan may pose as much of a danger as the Islamic State.”

According to the New York Times, some US officials have gone as far as saying that, while the Islamic State is undoubtedly more prominent in its show of force in the Middle East, the US air strike campaign and the coming actions by the anti-IS coalition will be what coaxes it into larger-scale attacks oversees – what Khorasan is essentially all about.

This brings up another issue seen in the current Western stance on terrorism: it is so focused on the terror spread by the IS that it’s beginning to forget that the destruction and mayhem of civil war across the Middle East is spawning a number of hard-to-track terrorist factions.

What you have is a growing body of extremists from around the world who are coming in and taking advantage of the ungoverned areas and creating informal ad hoc groups that are not directly aligned with ISIS or Nusra,” a senior law enforcement official told the NY Times on condition of anonymity.

The CIA and the White House declined to give comment.

According to government sources, the Al-Qaeda offshoot group is led by a former senior operative – 33-year-old Muhsin al-Fadhli, reportedly so close to Bin Laden’s inner circle that he was one of the few who knew of the 9/11 Twin Tower attacks in advance.

He had reportedly fled to Iran during the US-led invasion of Afghanistan. Al Qaeda’s story goes hazy after the campaign: many operatives are said to have traveled to Pakistan, Syria, Iran and other countries, forming splinter groups.

In 2012, al-Fadhli was identified by the State Department as leading the Iranian branch of Al-Qaeda, controlling the movement of funds and operatives” in the region and working closely with wealthyjihadist donors” in his native Kuwait to raise money for the Syrian terrorist resistance.

He said the group often disagrees over what to do or uses the pretext of non-interference to avoid accusation of meddling in each other’s affairs, while saying some wouldn’t refuse a Western intervention.

World Food Programme: ‘ GAZA – For The First Time Since 2007 a Humanitarian Convoy of UN WPF Successfully Crossed from Egypt into the Gaza Strip Today ‘

#AceWorldNews – GAZA – August 27 – For the first time since 2007, a humanitarian convoy of the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) successfully crossed from Egypt into the Gaza Strip today, carrying enough food to feed around 150,000 people for five days.

’ Rafah Border Crossing Was Closed Now Open For Aid and Feeding People ‘

After a seven-hour drive from Alexandria – where the food was procured – across the Sinai Peninsula, WFP’s trucks arrived at the Rafah crossing. The convoy of 18 trucks carried 15,600 food parcels – part of a total batch of 25,000 food parcels. The parcels include ready-to-eat food such as canned meat, canned beans, tea and dates.

A second convoy with the remaining parcels is expected to cross into Gaza in the next few days.

This is the first time that WFP has used the Rafah crossing point since the start of the Gaza blockade in 2007.

“It is extremely important that we have access to the Gaza Strip from different routes including the Rafah crossing to ensure a constant flow of humanitarian supplies to meet the growing needs of the people affected by the recent violence. We are grateful to the Government of Egypt for opening the Rafah crossing and allowing WFP to procure food in Egypt,” said Mohamed Diab, WFP Regional Director for the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia and East Europe.

To respond to the urgent need for humanitarian aid in Gaza, the UN in Palestine has activated the logistics cluster. Under the leadership of WFP, the cluster is in charge of coordinating the movement of humanitarian assistance into Gaza. The Egyptian Red Crescent is coordinating all the crossing of humanitarian goods through Rafah.

“The opening of the Rafah crossing for humanitarian aid provides a major opportunity to scale up aid delivery to Gaza and needs to be sustained,” says WFP Country Director Pablo Recalde. “WFP has provided emergency relief from the onset of the conflict and will continue its food deliveries to Gaza to reach people affected by the conflict”.

GAZA CITY: ' Israel "NEVER REGRETS VIOLATING INTERNATIONAL LAW" Political Analyst States '

#AceWorldNews – GAZA CITY – July 27 – Israel never regrets violating the international law and is going ahead with its barbaric war on the Gaza Strip as the Tel Aviv regime enjoys all-out support of the United States, a political analyst tells Press TV.

Mark Weber, director of the Institute for Historical Review, said in a Saturday interview with Press TV that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “has shown that he is willing to utterly defy world opinion in carrying out this extremely one-sided barbaric attack on Gaza.”

“This outrage has angered public opinion around the world,” he stated, adding that Israel has for long proved that it will act “in defiance…even of United States law because they can count on the continuing support of US Congress and the US government, which is a reflection of course of the tremendous power of the pro-Israel lobby here in the United States.”

The analyst predicted that the Gaza carnage will continue mainly due to the US support for Israel.

“This shows really…the moral bankruptcy of US policy worldwide and in particular of course in the Middle East.”

Death toll from Israeli attacks on Gaza has reached 1,050 since Tel Aviv began its onslaught on July 8.

Thousands of Palestinians have also been injured in the attacks.

' Five Hour Cease-Fire in Gaza Between Israel and Hamas for Humanitarian Aid '

#AceBreakingNews – GAZA CITY – July 17 – A  temporary humanitarian cease-fire between Israel and Hamas went into effect at 10 A.M. on Thursday and is scheduled to last until 3 P.M. The cease-fire was requested by Robert Serry, the United Nations special coordinator for the Middle East, in order to allow aid into the Gaza Strip (Haaretz)

Hamas has agreed to abide by the cease-fire; the IDF warned, however that Israel would retaliate against any attempt to violate it. Three Palestinians were reportedly killed by IDF fire just minutes before the truce went into effect.

The Israel Defence Forces struck 37 targets overnight in the Gaza Strip; the death toll in the coastal territory has reached 214. Hamas and the Islamic Jihad have fired more than 1,215 rockets and mortar shells into Israel since the hostilities began, reaching the length and breadth of the country.

One Israeli has been killed, several wounded and millions of lives disrupted. Of the missiles fired, 38 have exploded in built-up spaces and 231 have been intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defence system.

‘ Iran’s President Vows to Defend Shiite Holy Sites in Iraq and US Support Their Oil Interests ‘

#AceNewsServices – IRAN (Tehran) – June 18 – Iran‘s president vowed on Wednesday to defend Shi’ite holy sites in Iraq, where Sunni militants battled their way into the biggest oil refinery in what is rapidly turning into a sectarian war across the frontiers of the Middle East.

(Iran’s President vows to Protect Shiite Holy Sites in Iraq)

Sunni fighters were in control of three quarters of the territory of the Baiji refinery north of Baghdad, an official said there, after a morning of heavy fighting at gates defended by elite troops under siege for a week.

(Fighting for Justice or Oil)

A lightning advance has seen Sunni fighters rout the Shi’ite-led government’s army and seize the main cities across the north of the country since last week.

The fighters are led by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant which aims to build a caliphate ruled on mediaeval precepts, but also include a broad spectrum of more moderate Sunnis furious at what they see as oppression by Baghdad.

Iraq Preparing for Holy War as US Protects their Financial Interests)

Washington and other Western capitals are trying to save Iraq as a united country by leaning hard on Shi’ite Prime Minister to reach out to Sunnis. Maliki met Sunni and Kurdish political opponents overnight, concluding with a frosty, carefully-staged joint appearance at which an appeal for national unity was read out.

But so far Maliki’s government has relied almost entirely on his fellow Shi’ites for support, with officials lashing out at Sunni political leaders as traitors.

Extra-legal Shi’ite militia – many believed to be funded and backed by Iran – have mobilized to halt the Sunni advance, as Baghdad’s million-strong army, built by the United States at a cost of $25 billion, crumbles.
