#AceWorldNews – AFGHANISTAN (Kabul) – August 30 – A suicide bomber in a truck blew himself up at an intelligence headquarters in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday, killing at least two people and setting off an intense fire-fight with security forces, officials said.
After the bombing outside the headquarters of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) in Jalalabad, militants battled with security forces for an hour before authorities were able to put down the attack, said Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, a spokesman for the Nangarhar governor.
He would not say how many attackers were involved or whether they were all killed or some escaped. He said authorities were searching the grounds.
Abdulzai put the death toll at two and said they were both from the NDS, but Najibullah Kamawal, the top provincial health official, said six bodies had been brought to the hospital.
Conflicting death tolls are common in the immediate aftermath of such bombings.
Kamawal said 45 people were wounded. The powerful explosion shook the entire neighborhood, breaking nearby windows and startling residents.
#AceWorldNews – AFGHANISTAN – April 05 – (KP) – At least 24 Taliban militants were killed and 4 others were injured during military operations by Afghan national security forces in the past 24 hours.
The operations were conducted by Afghan national police (ANP) forces in cooperation with the Afghan national army (ANA) and Afghan intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) operatives.
The interior ministry of Afghanistan following a statement said the operations were conducted in Baghan, Maidan Wardak, Paktika and Helmand provinces.
Interior ministry confirmed 24 Taliban militants were killed, 4 Taliban militants were injured and 7 others were detained during the operations.
#AceWorldNews – KABUL – April 04 – (KP) – The Afghan intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) foiled a terrorist attack plot in capital Kabul on Friday evening (KP)
National Directorate of Security (NDS) following a statement said a suspected militant was arrested in connection to the attack plot by Afghan intelligence operatives during an operation in Kabul city.
The statement further added that the detained militant was recognized as Shah Agha, who was appointed to coordinate attack during the elections day.
NDS also added that Afghan intelligence operatives discovered and seized 2 RPG rocket launchers along with its 35 rockets, 28 AK-47 rifle, 3 pistols, 11 police jackets, 31 police uniforms, various other types of weapons along military equipments.
The weapons and military equipment were stored in the residential house of Shah Agha in the 11th district of Kabul city, NDS said, adding that further investigations have been launched regarding the terrorist attack plot.
#AceWorldNews – KABUL – April 04 – (KP) – Reports that Heavy clashes were reported among the Pakistani and Afghan Taliban militants in eastern Paktika province of Afghanistan on Friday.
Afghan intelligence – National Directorate of Security (NDS) officials said the incident took place around 12:40 pm local time in Wana district.
The officials further added that a group of the Pakistani Taliban militants were looking to storm the election sites in Paktika province, however Afghan Taliban militants opposed with them which erupted heavy gun battle between the two sides.
