“They came in here, rushed on my parents acting like UPS workers. Tied them up, took a couple stuff from here,” the victim’s son told Duddridge.

The son wasn’t at home at the time and didn’t want to appear on camera, but said the robbery happened Sunday around 5 p.m. at a building on Billingsley Terrace in Morris Heights.

Police say the two suspects used twist ties to restrain a 60-year-old grandmother, 63-year-old grandfather and their two grandkids, a 6-year-old girl and 8-year-old boy.

“They’re scared. They’re still scared,” the son told Duddridge. “They took the kids’ phones and tablets… took cash they found around the house.”

Police say the suspects got into a safe and the children’s piggy bank, stealing $7,500 in cash they family told Duddridge they were saving to move.

Duddridge met the grandfather outside, who doesn’t speak English. The building’s superintendent translated for him.

“They took everything. They took everything for Christmas,” the grandfather said, as translated by superintendent Raul Ortiz.

Surveillance video shows the two suspects carrying suitcases filled with stuff down the stairs.

“I hope they catch him,” Ortiz said. “These people, they’re nice people. They don’t bother nobody.”

Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspects. The fake delivery man was wearing a brown hat, mask and jacket. His accomplice was wearing a black face mask and black sweatshirt.

(NEW YORK CITY) NYPD REPORT: A Bronx man has been arrested and charged on Saturday for the murder of a 16yr-old-teen in September #AceNewsDesk report

#AceNewsReport – Oct.17: The victim, Nisayah Sanchez, also of the Bronx, died Sept. 30 after two men jumped out of a gray Honda Accord and shot him in the head and chest…..

#AceDailyNews says according to the NY Post police have arrested a 21-year-old Bronx man in the September shooting death of a 16-year-old gangbanger with a long rap sheep, the NYPD announced Saturday…..

NY Post: By Dean Balsamini: October 16, 2021 | 9:00am

Xavier Rosado, of East 184th Street, was taken into custody at around 1 a.m. Friday and charged with murder, attempted murder, assault, weapon possession, and criminal use of a firearm, the NYPD said.

The victim, Nisayah Sanchez, also of the Bronx, died Sept. 30 after two men jumped out of a gray Honda Accord and shot him in the head and chest on East 187th Street near Prospect Avenue in Belmont in broad daylight on Sept. 29, cops said.

EMS took Sanchez to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police sources told The Post at the time that Sanchez was a member of the Reyway Crew gang, a subset of the Crips, and had been arrested 18 times — 10 felonies and eight misdemeanors dating back to May 2017.

The motive for the gunplay was unclear, but a 23-year-old man who was with the teen was shot in the left arm and right foot — and investigators were probing the possibility that the gunmen may have been aiming for him and not the teen, police sources said.

At the time, NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea spoke about Sanchez’s case — and the death of Jaden Turnage, another 16-year-old boy gunned down in Bedford-Stuyvesant.Xavier Rosado was taken into custody at around 1 a.m. Friday and charged with murder, attempted murder, assault, weapon possession, and criminal use of a firearm,Peter Gerber

Sanchez had “a rap sheet as long as my arm,” he said. “We are not helping these kids by putting them back on the streets. In fact, what we’re actually doing is encouraging others to carry guns, because you have to, because no one is being removed from the streets. It doesn’t take mass incarceration — it takes common sense and it takes leadership and courage to say we need to fix these laws.”

The NYPD said the investigation is continuing……

Adams, a former New York Police Department captain who serves as Brooklyn borough president, said the stabbing occurred at 149th St and Morris Ave.

The New York Police Department told Fox News that the stabbing happened just before 2:45 p.m.  They said officers encountered a “42-year-old male with multiple stab wounds.”

EMS arrived on the scene and transferred the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, police said.

Democratic mayoral candidate Eric Adams greets supporters during a campaign event, Thursday, June 17, 2021, in the Harlem neighborhood of New York.

Adams, who has taken a tough on crime approach compared with that of his opponents, called for the violence in New York City to come to an end.

The stabbing comes just two days ahead of the Democratic primary for New York City’s next mayor. Adams’ Democratic rivals sent their condolences on Twitter.

“My thoughts are with he and his family and my heart hurts for Team Adams today,” tweeted mayor candidate and civil rights lawyer Maya Wiley.”

“Horrible news. My thoughts are with your volunteer, their family, and your entire team, Eric,” wrote former presidential candidate Andrew Yang.

Another top candidate, Kathryn Garcia tweeted she was “pained” to hear about the stabbing.

“Sending love to his family and thinking of the team and volunteers,” she tweeted.

Recent polls have suggested that Adams is the favorite among the Democratic candidates, getting ranked first by a little less than a quarter of likely voters.

Fox News has reached out to Adams’ campaign team with a request for comment.

Times Square, one of New York’s tourist hotspots before the pandemic, has changed since theatres closed in March 2020.

According to a recent report by the Times Square Alliance, the neighbourhood business association, the area recorded 25 violent crimes in the first quarter of 2021, up from 17 in the same period of 2020.

At the end of March, a video of an assault on a woman of Asian descent shocked the neighbourhood.

A man with a criminal record, who lived in a hotel near Times Square that had become a reception centre for the homeless, was arrested and charged.

About 15 people are seen walking in the streets around Times Square, near an NYPD police van. They mostly wear black and helmets

Local theatres are set to start reopening on September 14, however, and New York’s mayor,  Bill de Blasio, recently announced a major campaign to revive tourism from June.

Shootings in New York have sharply increased since the summer of 2020 and the protests against police violence following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, official data show.

Crime in general was up 30 per cent over the same period.

Overnight, the management company of the building said it suspended the staff members who witnessed the attack, pending an investigation.

“The Brodsky Organization condemns all forms of discrimination, racism, xenophobia and violence against the Asian American,” the Brodsky Organization said in a statement. “The staff who witnessed the attack have been suspended pending an investigation in conjunction with their union.”

The hate crimes task force is also investigating an attack on the J train. One man beat and choked a man until he became unconscious. Police believe the victim is Asian.

Dozens gathered in Queens on Monday night for a candlelight vigil honoring the lives lost in the Atlanta shooting and standing will all victims of hate.

“What kind of hate is displayed in this kind of attack?” said State Sen. John Liu.

“Asian Americans for too long in this country have been shamefully scapegoated because of ignorant fear,” said Rep. Grace Meng.

NYPD numbers show at least 31 anti-Asian hate crimes citywide so far in 2021. But the department admits crimes against Asian Americans have long gone underreported.

“We’re just starting to learn to speak up about something that’s been happening for as long as we can remember,” said Kim.

The Asian Hate Crimes Task Force told CBS2 bystanders too often do not intervene when witnessing an attack.

“Being silent is being complicit when we see our brothers and sisters being attacked,” said Queens Borough President Donovan Richards.

“It doesn’t get easier, but it’s helpful when people gather together,” said State Sen. Liu.

Starting this week, undercover Asian American police officers will be walking the streets with the purpose of preventing and responding to hate crimes.MORE

Meantime, investigators are asking anyone with information on these latest attacks to contact police.

#AceNewsReport – Feb.19: The 12-year-old girl was in her school uniform, wearing pigtails. She clutched her princess lunch box as she got off the Bronx bus after tutoring, and that’s when the rapist grabbed her by the arm: “If you scream, I’m gonna kill you,” he said, according to police. The stranger dragged her roughly, turning down an alley where he brutally attacked her #AceNewsDesk reports

The crime took place on Feb. 24, 2015. And, despite DNA evidence and surveillance footage of the attack, no arrests have been made. As the anniversary nears, the Special Victims Division detective on the case is pleading for anyone with information to send a tip through the CrimeStoppers website or call the hotline:

“She was just a baby,” said Det. Diane Crowley. “This is the worst of the worst.”

Surveillance footage shows a young man in tan cargo pants, wearing a blue jacket with a hood and a hat. His face is blurry, but it’s not impossible to recognize. Part of the problem, Crowley thinks, is the suspect was also young, probably 14 to 16 years old. She thinks people are afraid of being wrong and turning in an innocent kid.

“Obviously with the forensic evidence, there’s no way the wrong kid will go to jail for this,” she said. “I just think after three years, you told somebody, you told part of it to somebody. A mom saw it. Someone knows something.”

There’s a reward of more than $22,000 for any tips leading to an arrest.

Crowley is haunted by the case. She said when she arrived to the hospital, the little girl in a bed, still in her uniform, but it was ripped and dirty. Her glasses were askew.

She had a hard time explaining the attack to police.

“She had to describe things that happened to her that she didn’t even have the vocabulary for,” Crowley said. “She’d never seen a male body before.”

She was on the BX 19 bus to East Tremont, where she transfers to another bus to go home. She said he grabbed her when she got off, then walked her into an alley at 2064 Daley Avenue, the first building off 179th Street.

The alley is sunken — not something easily seen from the street, but there’s turf covering one of the walls.

After the attack, she ran and called her mother and they went to the hospital, which collected forensic evidence. Crowley set to work. It took police days to find the crime location because the little girl didn’t know where she was.

They followed up on hundreds of leads, talked to any gang members in the possibility it was some sort of initiation. They combed through bus footage. The victim didn’t remember seeing him at school, but it looked like he might have also have been wearing a uniform.

“I think most sex crimes are about opportunity. She happened to be an easy target,” Crowley said. “But when you find a 12 year old and you saw I’m going to kill you … it’s a real cowardly attack,” she said.

Crowley said the girl has had ups and downs. She’s anxious and can’t sleep, struggles in school, but she’s growing into a smart young woman and is doing her best.

“But, her innocence was taken. The twinkle in her eye dimmed out,” she said. “I would love nothing more than to bring her and her family justice.”
