#AceNewsServices – NATO – September 05 – Prime Minister David Cameron spoke at the North Atlantic Council meeting on the future of NATO and the need to adapt to face new threats.
Watch the speech
When NATO last met here in the UK in 1990, many would have hoped that its core aim would soon have been fulfilled. After the long years of the Cold War, the vision of a Europe whole, free and at peace seemed within our grasp. Yet today the protection and security that NATO provides is as vital to our future as it has ever been in our past.
We face new and evolving dangers. To the East, Russia is ripping up the rulebook with its annexation of Crimea and its troops on sovereign soil in Ukraine. To the South, an arc of instability bends from North Africa to the Middle East.
Last night we discussed the threat posed by ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) in Iraq and Syria.
So our message is clear. We are united in our condemnation of these barbaric and despicable acts. They should be very clear, these terrorists: their threats will only harden our resolve to stand up for our values and to defeat them.
To do so – and to deal with all the threats we face – our great alliance must now evolve and refocus on the new capabilities that we need to keep our people safe. And I hope that in these sessions today we can agree the changes that are needed. For me there are 3.

#AceWorldNews – BRITAIN (London) – July 20 – The Prime Minister has spoken to Chancellor Merkel and President Hollande this morning.
Both calls focused on 2 important issues: access to the crash site; and the EU’s approach to Russia given all the evidence suggests the missile was launched by pro-Russian separatists.
All 3 leaders agreed that the immediate priority is to secure access to the crash site and to ensure that specialist teams are able to recover the victims and return them home. They agreed President Putin has an important role to play by persuading the separatists to grant access and to work with the international community to ensure that all that needs to be done can be done as soon as possible.
They also agreed that the EU must reconsider its approach to Russia and that foreign ministers should be ready to impose further sanctions on Russia when they meet on Tuesday.
The Foreign Secretary will chair a further cross-Whitehall meeting on the MH17 disaster at 1pm today.
The Prime Minister is due to speak to President Putin early this evening.
The Prime Minister has chaired an emergency meeting on flight MH17 and had several discussions with other leaders.
British nationals who are concerned a friend or relative may be involved in the flight MH17 disaster should contact the Foreign Office on 020 7008 1500.
Really annoyed at this one today, Obama met with UK leader and Eton boy David Cameron and Obama HAD to have a say on Scottish Independence. Well I ask, did he? I mean this was a PR stunt of the highest order. Should Scotland leave the UK, there will still be England, Wales and Northern Ireland in the Union, in reality American would have a new friend in a free Scotland
Coming from a man who stands back and watches hundreds of his own people die every day due to no Health Care and spends more on Islam than he does on his own people, I think this is a slap in the face to each and every American who actually cares about Scotland leaving the Union/UK, and I am guessing these numbers would be very low. For Obama to stand and say these things slaps in the face of Scotland also. Who is he to tell us what we can or can’t vote. I think speaking to many Scottish people this evening many are very annoyed at Obama having the cheek to even remark on this issue and his remarks were so far from the truth it is untrue, many in the World will lap his words up but up here in Scotland we all laughed and shook our heads at a disaster of a PR by David Cameron
What gives Obama the right to dictate to anyone. He can’t run his own Country properly. If I could send one message to Obama it would be “No matter what happens Mr President, you will still have the UK as a partner” He had no right to stick his mouth into any debate. I am not angry at this I am fuming! I am mad! This was David Cameron asking Obama to help his cause for a NO Vote on September 18th.
Thankfully the people of Scotland are FAR more clever than this propaganda and have as I though we would laughed this stupid stunt off. It was rediculous, ill timed, not right and since when does Obama have a say on these matter? Again, NO MATTER the outcome, the UK will still exist. This is media crap and I urge every Scottish person to ignore it and laugh at it for exactly what it is. A stupid remark rehearsed in advance on a people who have a bigger IQ than Obama does. Scotland won’t fall for this propaganda rubbish
#AceNewsServices – BRITAIN – April – Britain is now a “post-Christian” country, former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams has said.
Speaking to the Sunday Telegraph, Lord Williams said Britain was not a nation of believers and that the era of widespread worship was over.
It comes after Prime Minister David Cameron said people in Britain should be confident of its status as “a Christian country”.
Deputy PM Nick Clegg said the Church and state should be separated.
Writing in the Church Times, Mr Cameron said Christians made a difference to people’s lives and should be more evangelical about it.
This prompted a group of 50 public figures to write a letter insisting that the UK was “a non-religious” and “plural” society and that to claim otherwise fostered “alienation and division”.
(Telegraph) April 26 – Britain is now a “post-Christian” country, the former archbishop of Canterbury has declared, as research suggests that the majority of Anglicans and Roman Catholics now feel afraid to express their beliefs.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Lord Williams of Oystermouth says Britain is no longer “a nation of believers” and that a further decline in the sway of the Church is likely in the years ahead.
While the country is not populated exclusively by atheists, the former archbishop warns that the era of regular and widespread worship is over.
In writing in the (Telegraph) on April 20 – SIR – We respect the Prime Minister’s right to his religious beliefs and the fact that they necessarily affect his own life as a politician. However, we object to his characterisation of Britain as a “Christian country” and the negative consequences for politics and society that this engenders.
Apart from in the narrow constitutional sense that we continue to have an established Church, Britain is not a “Christian country”.
Repeated surveys, polls and studies show that most of us as individuals are not Christian in our beliefs or our religious identities.

#AceWorldNews says the legitimate authorities in Crimea are taking steps which are in compliance with international law with an aim to ensure the lawful interests of Crimea’s population, Russian President Vladimir Putin told British Prime Minister David Cameron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel by telephone on Sunday.
“The Russian president also called his interlocutors’ attention to the fact that the current authorities in Kiev were doing nothing to curb the rampage of ultra-nationalist and radical forces in the Ukrainian capital and in many other regions,” the Kremlin press service reports.
The complicated socio-political situation in Ukraine and a referendum on Crimea’s future status slated for March 16 were central to Sunday’s telephone talks.

#AceWorldNews says Prime Minister David Cameron said on Friday that Britain’s stability and foreign direct investment would be at risk if Scotland votes to leave the UK in a referendum later this year, Reuters reported.
“We are quite simply stronger as a bigger entity as an open economy of 63 million people with the oldest and most successful single market in the world,” Cameron said. He was speaking in London in a speech urging Scotland to remain part of the UK.
“Last year, we were the top destination for foreign direct investment in Europe,” he said. “That is a stamp of approval on our stability.”
Sounds great and almost too good to be true but of course behind every headline is a real truth wanting to get out, well this deal is no different. The companies that benefit from the £1 billion trade deal will be the some of the 100 that have duly supported all the austerity measures so far, with more to come. Well you have to pay for the 134 hangers-on that visited China, the word paternalism comes to mind in this case. The real truth about this deal is those that need it most will not even get a sniff, and those that need it least will benefit to the tune of hundreds of thousands of pounds!
The emphasis will be on jobs and of course we all want full-time employment, or wage slaves willing as l have found out to work for less than the minimum wage, just for the fear of losing their benefits. The cost of these jobs to the “British People” apart from their self-respect well short-term contracts for long-term gain for the companies that benefit.
Well as long as the economy benefits it would seem a good deal, but truth as l have said is stranger than fiction and exports for companies who can afford it, such as Ford, Jaguar and JCB means massive profits. These massive profits though will not benefit the UK to the tune of £1.00 ,as all these companies have offshore domains and bank accounts to match. So all their profits will not come back into the UK ,but be held offshore until one day they need to fund another “Trade Deal” and can look like they are re-investing into the “British Economy” with one hand and taking it out with the other.
