(GRT MANCHESTER) Minshull St Crown Court Report:An ex-footballer who raped six young girls over a five year period has today been jailed for 24 years #AceNewsDesk report

#AceNewsReport – Sept.25: The girl told her sister and her mother and when her mother confided in a friend, she learned of similar reports by two other girls.

#AceDailyNews reports that the Ex-footballer jailed for sexually abusing young girls: Jonathan Diba-Musangu, 23, was convicted of 12 sexual offences against six victims he targeted between 2012 and 2017 according to CPS…..The former Rochdale goalkeeper’s youngest victim was just seven years old when he raped her in 2012: He was sentenced today at Minshull St Crown court, Manchester.

24 September 2021:

On a separate occasion in a church hall event, Diba-Musangu suggested the children dance in pairs. He then took one of the girls to the bathroom and sexually abused her. He also sexually abused another girl in the bathroom later that day.

In 2015: Diba-Musangu began talking to a 15-year-old girl on Snapchat and asked her to send explicit images and videos. On separate occasions, he assaulted and raped her.

In 2016: He raped a 12-year-old at a church summer camp. He then took photos of her and threatened to show them to others if she told anyone what he had done.

In 2017: Diba-Musangu raped a 12-year-old after she challenged him over lies he had been telling about them being in a relationship.

He was arrested in 2018 after many of the victims began confiding in each other and realised they were suffering similar abuse.

Diba-Musangu denied the allegations and said those accusing him were attempting to ruin his life.

The case against Diba-Musangu relied heavily on witness accounts. Working closely with Greater Manchester Police, the CPS also analysed more than one million strands of mobile phone data which was put into charts for the jury to follow.

In July, following a trial at the Lowry Nightingale Court in Salford, Diba-Musangu was convicted of three counts of rape of a child under 13, two counts of rape, two counts of sexually assaulting a child under 13, two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and three counts of sexual activity with a child.

Claire Marsh of the CPS said: ‘’Jonathan Diba-Musangu treated these young girls as objects for his own sexual gratification. He exploited their vulnerability without any thought to the devastating impact of his abuse on their lives: He exploited the church setting and his position as a footballer to commit these offences and sought to discredit the adults who came forward in support of the girls: Rape is a truly devastating and life-changing crime and our prosecutors see the trauma it can cause victims every day. I would therefore like to commend these young women and girls for coming forward and I hope this sentence helps them feel justice has been served.”

The CPS is determined to drive up the number of rape cases reaching court across the country. Earlier this year, along with the National Police Chiefs’ Council, we published the Joint National Action Plan which sets out a wide-ranging plan for greater collaboration to improve the response to RASSO cases.

The CPS is one year in to a five-year strategy to bring about a step change in how it works with all parts of the criminal justice system to reverse the sharp drop in prosecutions.

We have also recently updated our RASSO legal guidance to reflect rape myths and stereotypes in an age of changing sexual behaviours and the latest insights into the impact of trauma.

Additional Case Notes:

  • Claire Marsh is a Senior Crown Prosecutor with CPS North West
  • Jonathan Diba-Musangu was found guilty of 3 counts of rape of a child under 13, 2 counts of rape, 2 counts of sexually assaulting a child under 13, 2 counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and 3 counts of sexual activity with a child
  • Jonathan Diba-Musangu was sentenced to 24 years in prison and then on an extended licence recall for four years

(LONDON) JUST IN: Pakistan migrant got girl, 13, pregnant and trafficked 15-year-old, denies that he had committed a serious crime and it would breach his human rights to be deported #AceNewsDesk report

#AceNewsReport – June.15: Rochdale grooming gang member who got a girl pregnant and trafficked a 15-year-old said ‘we have not committed that big a crime’ as he said it would breach his human rights to be sent back to Pakistan:

ROCHDALE: Grooming gang member, 51, who got girl, 13, pregnant and trafficked a 15-year-old says ‘we have not committed that big a crime’ as claims it would breach his human rights to be sent back to Pakistan,” by Katie Weston, MailOnline, June 8, 2021:

Adil Khan, 51, and Qari Abdul Rauf, 52, have been told they are to be deported from the UK for the public good after both were part of a notorious gang convicted of a catalogue of serious sex offences against young girls.

The pair are appealing against a deportation order served last July. Khan told an immigration tribunal hearing today: ‘We have not committed that big a crime.’

He claims to have renounced his Pakistani citizenship which would make him ‘stateless’ and would be a bar to deportation.

Khan got a 13-year-old girl pregnant but denied he was the father then met another girl, 15, and trafficked her to others using violence when she complained.

He was sentenced to eight years in 2012 and released on licence four years later.

At an immigration tribunal hearing on Tuesday in London, Khan complained about the press coverage of the case.

Speaking via a videolink and through a Mirpuri translator, he said: ‘The journalists have made our lives a living hell.

‘We are not that big a criminal. We have not committed that big a crime. I’m innocent.

‘I’m not committing any crime. The journalists made us out to be big criminals.’

Khan, Rauf and two others were among nine Asian men convicted of sex offences against vulnerable girls in 2012.

For two years from early 2008, girls as young as 12 were plied with alcohol and drugs and gang-raped in rooms above takeaway shops and ferried to different flats in taxis where cash was paid to use the girls.

Police said as many as 47 girls were groomed.

Khan and Rauf were among four of the gang with dual UK-Pakistani citizenship, so liable to be stripped of UK citizenship and deported, after then-Home Secretary Theresa May ruled it would be ‘conducive to the public good’ to deprive the four of the right to remain in the UK.

The pair, along with another man, Abdul Aziz, then fought, and lost, a long legal battle against the deprivation order, losing a final Court of Appeal ruling in 2018.

But the failure to then deport any of the four, almost a decade after their convictions, has heaped public criticism on a number of home secretaries and led to anger in Rochdale, where victims were living alongside their tormentors….

(LONDON) #Rochdale Grooming Gang Report: Two paedophiles told they would be kicked out of the UK six years ago have launched another appeal to stay here, The Sun can reveal #AceNewsDesk report

#AceNewsReport – Apr.19: Adil Khan and Qari Abdul Rai have lodged legal paperwork aimed at trying to prevent the Home Office from removing them: Now we can reveal that Khan, 51, has launched an appeal which will be heard by an immigration judge in June:

UK: Migrant rape gang members who were ordered deported six years ago launch another appeal to stay: ‘The men were convicted in 2012 of being part of a nine-strong gang which sexually abused dozens of teenagers in Rochdale, Gtr Manchester’

“‘NO REMORSE’ Rochdale grooming gang paedophiles launch ANOTHER appeal to stay in UK,” by Richard Moriarty and Jonathan Reilly, The Sun, April 8, 2021:

LEGAL CHALLENGE:

And a separate source told The Sun Muslim preacher Rauf has also indicated he plans to lodge his own legal challenge.

On Wednesday Rauf admitted to a reporter he was “surprised” he hadn’t been deported.

When asked if he expected to be removed soon, he added: “No, I don’t think so.”

Last night a victim who was just 13 when she became pregnant by Khan told of the trauma she has faced.

The girl, who was known as Ruby Bowen in the BBC drama Three Girls which dramatised the scandal, said: “The fact they are appealing their sentences honestly makes me feel sick.

“I have to live round here and it’s so easy to find me if they want to.

“We are nearly ten years on and me and the other victims are still being let down by the police and the legal system. No-one seems to care.”…
