Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also made a similar call to the Jordanian king and to Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II.

The calls from the king and crown prince come after arrests were made on Saturday in Amman, following what Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ayman Safadi called a “malicious plot” to destabilize the country.

Safadi said Sunday that the country’s former crown prince, Prince Hamza, had been liaising with foreign parties over the plot.

King Abdullah expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the king and crown prince for their support, and for Saudi Arabia’s stance in standing by Jordan in all circumstances and crises.

Prince Hussein also expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the crown prince for the support of the Saudi leadership, and said he appreciated the Kingdom’s stance in always standing by Jordan and its support for its security and stability.

Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan also affirmed the Kingdom’s stance and King Salman and the crown prince’s unlimited support for everything that strengthens the deep-rooted brotherly relations between the two countries that serves their common interests.
He said that the Kingdom’s support for Jordan is permanent and constant in all crises and circumstances and in various political, security, economic and development fields.
He praised the “leadership the king attaches to the economic process and the comprehensive developmental renaissance in Jordan, and for the good and well-being of the Jordanian people,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.
Prince Faisal added that Jordan’s stability and prosperity is essential for the region’s stability and prosperity.

The phone calls from the king and crown prince reiterated the position of support stated by the Saudi royal court soon after the arrests were announced on Saturday.

“The Kingdom affirms its full support, with all its capabilities, to all decisions and measures taken by King Abdullah and His Highness Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, to maintain security and stability,” the statement from the royal court said.

Jordan says prince liaised with ‘foreign parties’ over plot to destabilize country: AMMAN: Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ayman Safadi said Sunday that the country’s former crown prince, Prince Hamza, had been liaising with foreign parties over a plot to destabilize the country and had been monitored for some time.

April 04, 2021 15:23: Arab News:

The authorities intercepted communications between Prince Hamza and foreign parties over the timing of steps to undermine Jordan’s security, Safadi said at a news conference.

Evidence showed Prince Hamza had been communicating with outside entities, the so-called Jordanian opposition, and had recorded two videos in Arabic and English in an “incitement attempt,” Safadi added.

He also said the wife of Prince Hamza had also made contact with a representative of a foreign country to secure escape.

He added Jordanian intelligence had intercepted certain communications at what he called the “zero hour,” adding that “it was clear they had moved from design and planning into action,”

He said some 14-16 people are under arrest in addition to senior officials whose arrest had already been announced.

Safadi confirmed that the security efforts to foil the attempt had been fully Jordanian and that all suspicious activities were now under full control.

The security services have asked for those involved in the plot to be referred to the state security court, he said.

` North Korea’s `Kim Jong-un ‘ receives 100% percent of votes from his constituency in parliamentary poll ‘

#AceWorldNews says that North Korea’s Supreme leader Kim Jong-Un received 100 percent of the votes from his constituency in a parliamentary poll, showing the “people’s absolute support and profound trust,” North’s official KCNA news agency said.

He ran uncontested in elections to the Supreme People’s Assembly (SPA), which are held every 5 years. Each of the nearly 700 constituencies had only one state-sponsored candidate on the ballot.

Kim can now add parliamentary deputy to his list of accolades, which also include Supreme Commander of the armed forces and chairman of the powerful National Defence Commission.

` Saudi Arabian court sentences 3 men to death and jails 2 others for 17 years for involvement in 2003 bombings’

#AceWorldNews says that a Saudi Arabian court has sentenced three men to death and jailed two others for up to 17 years for their part in militant attacks, state news agency SPA reported.

In the 2003 attack, suspected Al-Qaeda suicide bombers blew up their explosives-laden car in a Riyadh compound housing mostly Arab foreigners, killing 11 people and wounding 122, Reuters said.

Saudi Arabia faced a militant insurgency from 2003 to 2006, and the kingdom responded by arresting thousands of suspected militants and launching a media campaign to discredit their ideology.
