(LONDON) MET REPORT: A convicted terrorist offender who broke the conditions of his release by not telling police his new employer had given him access to vehicles is going back to jail #AceNewsDesk report

#AceNewsReport – July.31: Having registered with an employment agency to work as an HGV driver, Rowe accepted work with Serco, driving refuse lorries on behalf a local authority. Because he didn’t inform police of the access to the refuse lorries with a certain time period, he broke one of the conditions of his release, leading to the police investigation.

#AceDailyNews reports after a convicted terror offender sent back to jail and this followed an investigation by officers from the Met’s Terrorist Offender Management Unit (TOMU) which began after it came to light that in August 2019, Rowe had failed to declare access to vehicles: Andrew Rowe, 50, (29.07.1971) of St John’s Wood, London, was jailed for ten months on Thursday, 29 July.

On 4 February 2020, charges were authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service and on 18 March 2020, he appeared in court where he denied the charges: The case was referred to the Central Criminal Court and on 29 March 2021, Rowe admitted to nine counts of breaching a Part 4 notification under the Counter Terrorism Act 2008: During this time, Rowe had been remanded on bail by the court.

Acting Commander Kevin Southworth, SO15, said: “This was a very serious breach and is exactly why the work of our Terrorism Offender Management Unit is so crucial. Our priority is to keep the public safe, and the requirements for terrorism offenders released into the community are so strict for this reason: Rowe was obliged to report the access to the vehicles within three days which he did not, therefore we took action to investigate and bring him before the court: Upon his release, Rowe will continue to be managed by police.”

#AceNewsServices – Nov.26 – The Islamic State has released photographs purporting to show a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) exploding near the Trebil border complex.

The complex, which is part of the Karameh border crossing with Jordan, is in the Iraqi village of Trebil in the western province of Anbar. The attack, which was directed at an Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) checkpoint, is said to have killed or wounded several Iraqi military personnel.

The picture was produced by the Islamic State’s Wilayat Anbar and then disseminated on Twitter by its supporters. The terrorist organization has taken to releasing its propaganda that way as the social media site has cracked down on official Islamic State accounts. The provincial division (Wilayat) of Anbar is one of the Islamic State’s 18 declared provinces.

The attack, according to several Arabic-language news agencies, left at least four Iraqi military personnel dead and four others wounded. According to Iraqi Spring, an activist media group in Iraq, at least six military personnel were killed or wounded. The latter fits with a report from the Institute for the Study of War that says two Iraqi Army personnel were killed and four were wounded.

The Trebil crossing was captured by the Islamic State on June 22, just a day after the group seized the Al Qaim border crossing with Syria. Al Qaim, an Iraqi city along the Euphrates River near Syria, is now part of the Islamic State’s Wilayat al Furat (Euphrates Province).

The Trebil crossing, however, was recaptured by the Iraqi military on June 24. As such, it has been a contested area for some time.

JERUSALEM: ‘ Three-month-old baby girl laid to rest after terror attack on light rail train in capital ‘

#AceNewsServices – JERUSALEM – October 25 – On Wednesday night, in a crowded funeral parlour in Jerusalem, Shmuel Elimelech Braun stood in front of the small, white shroud-covered body of his three-month old daughter, Chaya Zissel, killed earlier that day in a terror attack.

Three-month-old baby girl laid to rest after terror attack on light rail train in capital.

“Zissila, you were pure,” the young father said in a tear-choked voice.

Earlier on Wednesday, he and his wife, Chana, had taken their only child to see the Western Wall for the first time.

“In the last hour, you were by the Kotel. You woke up. We schmoozed with each other,” said Braun as he recounted those last moments with the daughter he cherished.

“You looked at me and smiled,” Braun said. “I told you, this is the Kotel, this is Har Habayit [Temple Mount].”

Braun spoke with his infant daughter about the cherubs that had been on the Ark of the Covenant when the Temple existed thousands of years ago.

He described how the angels’ faces were like that of a pure child.

The family returned home on the light rail. Just after they stepped off the train, a young Arab man from east Jerusalem, Abdel Rahman al-Shalodi, drove his car into the group of people standing by the rails. Police have charged that he did so deliberately and that the incident is a terrorist attack.

Halperin said that his granddaughter flew out of her carriage and into the air some 10 to 20 meters before landing on the sidewalk, wounding her head.

Doctors were unable to save her life, Halperin said.

His wife, he said, had left Israel earlier that day, while Chaya Zissel was still alive.

WASHINGTON: ‘ President Obama Increased Military Pressure in Iraq Running Greater Risk’s ‘

#AceWorldNews – UNITED STATES (Washington) – September 11 – By expanding military pressure on the Islamic State, President Obama is now running risks he had long hoped to avoid when he withdrew U.S. forces from Iraq.

His strategy to counter the militant Islamic faction has been marked by a core principle that military action should not race ahead of politics and diplomacy. It has led to a more incremental approach criticized by some as overly cautious while supporters describe it as methodical and systematic.

The White House believes that progress in putting together an international coalition to battle the insurgents and building an inclusive Iraqi government has allowed the United States now to ratchet up military pressure on the militants.

With that diplomacy now bearing fruit, Obama said, “I can announce that America will lead a broad coalition to roll back this terrorist threat.”

` Human Rights Council Resolution is ` Illegitimate ' and `Islamic Republic of Iran ' Considers the Approach Non-Constructive '

#AceWorldNews – TEHRAN – March 31 – Expressing regret over issuing a resolution against Iran at the UN Human Rights Council, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman said approval of the resolution on Iran is based on dual standards and has political aims.

Marziyeh Afkham said that the move aims to create dispute between countries, impose special standards on others, and disrupt international human rights mechanism.

She stressed that Islamic Republic of Iran considers this approach non-constructive.

Afkham added that issuing such resolutions is ignoring Iranˈs positive steps in fulfilling its obligations and its constructive cooperation with international bodies and the improving trend of human rights in Iran.

Afkham continued that the resolution is following political interests and lacks legitimacy, adding that it is regretful that sponsors of the resolution are silent and indifferent about violation of human-rights of Palestinian people, and fate of innocent people, who are being taken hostage by terrorist groups and citizens who lose their lives on pretext of fight against terrorism.

The spokeswoman stressed that promotion of human rights is a global concern and no country is superior to others in such an important human responsibility and Iran has positive interaction with related international bodies and intends to make a dialogue and cooperate in a realistic way.

` ACLU ' says that the US has 875,000 on the `Terrorist Watch-List 'though they are not adhering to the Principle of Innocent until proven Guilty '

#AceWorldNews The US had 875,000 people in its terrorist watch-list system as of December 2012. Those secretly blacklisted have no real path to challenge their status, states a new report, thus indefinitely restricting those listed from travel or simply getting a job.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans and foreigners languish in the watch-list system, considered “known or suspected terrorists” based on secret rules and evidence that are basically impenetrable should the average suspect attempt to contest them, says a new report by the ACLU that highlights these challenges.

The US terrorist watch list system, which is shared with state and local law enforcement agencies, can stifle overseas travel, the ability to obtain a US visa or entry into the US, and can lead to invasive screenings or detentions by authorities at airports and the like.

This is not to mention the social pressure of being considered a terror suspect by the US, which can lead to a host of problems ranging from separation from family to ostracization from a community or place of employment, for example.

Despite the endless effects that can stem from being placed in the watch-list system, the US has not taken proper care to avoid the basic fairness principle of innocent until proven guilty, according to the ACLU.
