CASE NOTES: It started on 9 December last year when Richings, holding a handgun, and knife-wielding Negrobar stormed Subway in Walsgrave Road: The masked pair ushered staff into a back room, snatching a bracelet and gold chain, before taking the till drawer and making off in a stolen Citreon Berlingo: Three days later they repeated the tactic at the Seven Stars convenience store in Tile Hill Road where they assaulted the manager: On that occasion they made off empty handed but on 14 December stole cash and cigarettes from the Local Store in Allesley Old Road: Getaway driver Leon Wyatt, aged 21, helped the pair escape in the Berlingo – stolen from Ludlow Road, Coventry on 20 November – but we recovered it in Selcombe Close on 17 December: It was forensically examined and returned a DNA hit to Negrobar. Behind bars: (l-r) Richings, Negrobar and Wyatt: Extensive mobile phone analysis placed Richings at the scene of the raids and when we arrested him on 2 January from Roseberry Avenue, Wood End, officers seized clothing matching that worn by one of the offenders: Richings and Negrobar were charged with conspiracy to rob and at Warwick Crown Court on 23 September jailed after admitting their roles in the plot: Richings was jailed for eight years and Negrobar, who is already serving a seven-and-a-half year term, had an extra four-and-a-half years added to his sentence: Wyatt admitted one count of robbery and given a five year prison term: We also discovered Richings’ sister, Hollie Richings, met the men following the Subway offence and agreed to sell the stolen chain and bracelet in the Jewellery Quarter: The 26-year-old, from Second Avenue in Coventry, admitted handling and received a six-month sentence suspended for a year and ordered to complete 80 hours of unpaid community work……

Our Detective Constable Chris Parry, said: “These were really nasty offences in which victims believed they were going to be subjected to violence. This must have been an awful experience for them and I wish them well for the future: We secured compelling forensic, CCTV and phone evidence against the three which left them with little option but to admit their guilt at court.”

(WARWICK, U.K.) Crown Court Report: Three men have been jailed for running a huge three-floor cannabis farm in an abandoned nightclub in Coventry #AceNewsDesk report

#AceNewsReport – July.05: National Crime Agency officers, supported by colleagues from West Midlands Police, raided the property on Trinity Street on 15 October 2020.

#AceDailyNews reports that three Albanian nationals have been jailed for running an ‘industrial’ million pound cannabis farm in Coventry nightclub and face deportation after their sentence has ended.

INVESTIGATION: They had to smash through several reinforced doors to access the interior, which they found contained around 1500 cannabis plants spread across the building’s three floors. NCA experts value the haul at over £1 million” As well as the plants officers recovered sophisticated planting, growing and irrigation equipment, valued at around £150,000: The electricity supply at the property had been bypassed, with the equipment inside directly and illegally connected to the commercial supply from the street outside…………..Three men were arrested, Albanian nationals Andi Cani (aged 24) and Adrian Lleshaj (29) and Vietnamese national Cao Van Vu (31)………..Cani and Lleshaj attempted to hide on the roof of the building as officers entered, but were captured with the assistance of West Midlands Police drone unit, who were working with the NCA……………In interviews with NCA investigators, all three men admitted having paid people smugglers to assist them in entering the UK illegally.

The trio pleaded guilty to producing a controlled drug and today (29 June) a judge at Warwick Crown Court sentenced Vu to 40 months in prison, Lleshaj to 35 months, and Cani to 28 months: All three will face deportation after serving their jail terms.

NCA Branch Commander Mick Pope said: These men were involved in producing cannabis on an industrial scale. It is certainly the largest and most sophisticated cannabis factory ever found by the NCA: They were responsible for maintaining and storing drugs and equipment worth over a million pounds, which shows the wider criminal network behind this operation clearly trusted them: The takedown of this facility will have had a huge impact on the wider organised crime group, depriving them of potentially millions of pounds in profit, which would have been used to fund further criminality and exploitation.

“Our investigation continues.”……….
